Our Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware, functional models, and software for best-in-class performance on features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems. The ADAS Development Tools and Calibration team supports all software development activities by providing the necessary tools to generate, test and calibrate ADAS features. Ford''s ADAS team designs and develops features like BlueCruise hands-off driving, Pre-Collision Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 degree Camera Systems.We are seeking professionals who can contribute to our efforts with experience and passion in the development of features, functions, sensors, ECUs, models, and software. This position is about the system functions, elements and interfaces of vehicle architecture, foundational support, sensing, perception, fusion algorithms and vehicle control. It will likely also involve other elements of the process because we are more interested in adding high quality people to the team than trying to squeeze engineers into a specific role.You will:Work closely with Vehicle Architecture, ADAS Technical Experts, Feature Owners and Implementation Teams to decompose features and define optimal interface solutions for delivering Customer ExperiencesIdentify, develop and communicate functional requirements related to the signals and data exchanged between ADAS and the other vehicle control systems and manufacturing and test tooling.Collaborate with the Vehicle Network Architecture and ADAS Feature teams to define and realize the data that will be provided and consumed by ADAS.Support verification validation efforts with internal teams and suppliers to ensure requirement and design-intent compliance and qualityEnsure robustness, reliability and safety through design reviews, system analyses and testingDrive collaborative solutions to concepts and defects across multiple domain teams including features, hardware, software, functional safety, cyber security and verification validationHost communication sessions to present technical information and elicit feedback from cross-functional participantsThe minimum requirements we seek Bachelor''s Degree inElectrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience1+ years of experience (internship or coursework also permitted) as a systems engineer1+ years of experience (internship or coursework also permitted) using systems modeling and requirements management tools (SysML/MagicDraw, Polarion, DOORS)Our preferred requirementsMaster''s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field7+ years of experience in the automotive industry5+ years of experience as a systems engineer5+ years of experience using systems modeling and requirements management tools (SysML/MagicDraw, Polarion, DOORS)1+ years of development experience (C/C++, Python, and/or MATLAB)3+ years of experience with ADAS perception algorithms (e.g.,object detection and tracking, local mapping, sensor fusion)Strong communication skills and ability to lead ad-hoc teamsWhat you''ll receive in return:As part of the Ford family, you''ll enjoy excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous PTO, retirement, savings and stock investment plans, incentive compensation and much more.
