Job Purpose: The Head of Global Public Affairs (GPA) for Immunology serves as the senior public affairs functional expert to the Dermatology, Respiratory and Gastroenterology Franchises. The Head of GPA for Immunology is responsible for creating optimal conditions in and above markets to serve the needs of patients and support the objectives of the business. The Global Public Affairs Head for Immunology is responsible for the development of the overall global immunology public affairs strategy for the company and ensuring relevance and pull-through at the country level. To do this, the PA Head works closely with the Franchise Leadership Team to align with the company''s business strategy, the Clinical Development Team to anticipate new pipeline assets, as well as with external partners and stakeholders to advance shared objectives for the betterment of patients. The Head of Global Public Affairs for Immunology works closely with country immunology PA leads to drive in-country access and uptake strategies and with cross functional teams such as Communications, Regulatory, Market Access, Legal, Medical to advance key programs and tactics. The Head of Global Public Affairs for Immunology oversees a team and reports to the Head of Global Public Affairs for Specialty Care. Responsibilities: Support Sanofi''s leadership ambition in immunology through the development and implementation of a PA strategy that supports the company''s business objectives across its immunology portfolio. Continue to drive Sanofi''s PA leadership in dermatology, respiratory and GI and anticipate how future pipeline assets will evolve Sanofi''s immunology narrative and positioning with key partners Work closely with Alliance Partner, Regeneron on key assets to further public affairs and advocacy strategies and tactics globally Work with country PA leads to drive market strategies for immunology (including but not limited to building advocacy and shaping policy to advance access, uptake and better health outcomes for patients). Cultivate and advance strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to patient groups, policy stakeholders, medical organizations, etc. to advance the unmet needs of patients, empower the "voice of the patient," support disease awareness, drive advocacy and support disease education. Understand, monitor, and analyze policy environment at the global, regional and country levels and identify trends, obstacles and opportunities for the business and patients. Knowledge of the competitive landscape in dermatology, respiratory and GI and ensure strategic tactics and innovative approaches to maintain leadership Commitment to advance the public affairs immunology team to ensure performance excellence in a competitive environment Serve as a strategic advisor and staff the Head of Immunology in all external affairs issues relevant to advancing Sanofi''s reputation. Develop and execute an external engagement strategy for senior Franchise leadership to establish Sanofi''s commitment to science, patients. Support internal cross functional approaches to ensure best practices sharing and efficiencies Maintain oversight of budget and drive annual budget cycle Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor''s Degree (accredited four-year College or university; e.g. political sciences, law, international affairs, economics, medicine, pharmacy). Post-graduate degree in public health or related field/Doctorate degree or business (e.g., M.D., PhD, PharmD, MBA or equivalent) strongly preferred. A minimum 12 years of combined experience in public affairs, policy and/or market-shaping strategies or advanced responsibilities in an industry (or advocacy global institution) public affairs role. Direct experience in Immunology is required Scientific background, knowledge/experience in Dermatology or Respiratory Diseases is a strong plus Global experience is preferred Selected candidate will possess strong skill-sets in closely collaborating within a matrixed cross-functional team environment Strong Project Management skills are required for this role This position may require up to 30% overall business travel Required Competencies: Strategic thinker with demonstrated understanding of the strategic role of Public Affairs in driving business success. Solid track record in translating strategy to action: developing high impact Public Affairs strategies, deploying PA tools and tactics to meet business objectives. Strong leader with proven leadership ability to build consensus, influence the debate, mobilize teams around a position or cause. Team player, skilled in collaboration and able to work and lead with ease cross-functionally and within a matrix. Knowledge of policy and political environment, legislative processes and role of supra-national bodies. Skilled at developing and cultivating relationships with patient organizations, policymakers, NGOs, and other strategic partners. Strong knowledge of stakeholder groups, including multi-lateral institutions, trade associations, patient organizations. Knowledge of the healthcare industry, appreciation of critical trends shaping the operating landscape and relevance to industry/business strategy. Demonstrated ability to work with teams of experts and senior leaders in a highly matrixed organization. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable in ambiguous settings and in operating effectively in fast paced environments.
