Job DescriptionPOSITION DETAILSPosition has the primary responsibility for execution of projects, both small cap and TARsResponsibilities may include front end development to detailed design and construction including procurement, cost control and schedule management. Will adhere to client standards and deliver projects within budget, schedule, and quality requirementsReport / Intervene any unsafe behavior or unsafe operating condition observed while working in the plant/construction site(s)Assists and may manage simultaneous projects with competing priorities in various execution phases on a wide variety of processes in a chemical plant Assists in development of project scopes in collaboration with operations, process engineering and discipline representatives. Facilitates project meetings to develop and review project scope, design criteria and discipline drawings.Assists in oversight of engineering execution utilizing either on-site design staff or remote Engineering companies.Drives the approval by the appropriate technical authority of equipment specification and drawings.Develops project cost estimates and schedules for each phase of the projectAccountable for meeting project cost and schedule requirements, as assignedParticipates in budget and schedule forecastWorks with procurement to develop/implement a procurement strategy for each projectAssists with development of equipment and material bid specification, bid evaluation and selection.Ensures delivery of specified equipment by facilitating shop inspections and factory acceptance testing.Coordinates client personnel and Contractors to assure that field activities are completed safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with the design requirements.May be assigned to establish expectations for construction contractors to adhere to standards by spending time in the field.Assists with mechanical start-up plans and procedures, provides technical support during start-up, supports training activities, and assures documentation and knowledge transfer. Provides appropriate files to maintenance and operations for record keepingCreates or assembles all documents for project closure Closes project financial accountsRequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:B.S. in Engineering Discipline(5-15) years'' experience working as a project Engineer or Project ManagerExperience to include reporting and tracking project commercialsProject experience in a Chemical Plant Environment or as Engineering Consultant supporting day-to-day projectsProficient in MS Office Suite including ExcelAble to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.Work schedules may include extended hoursBENEFITS Brown and Root offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits which include a 401K plan, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD D, flexible spending account, disability, Paid Time Off (PTO) and flexible work schedule(s).
