We are looking for candidates with a strong background in software development, strong networking experience and rapid prototyping to support automation in conjunction with R&D efforts for Telos Ghost deployments. This position will be based in our office in Ashburn, VA. The DevOps engineer''s primary responsibilities will be to work closely with design and development engineers to do quick-turnaround automation of deployments utilizing a variety of automation/deployment tools. The ability to provide automation of network and network application deployment, use of dynamic scaling/load-balancing, as well as micro-services. Ability to pick up new technologies quickly and help select the best tools to obtain optimal results This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow with a dynamic team of developers. Responsibilities: * Gain full understanding of existing Ansible deployment scripts, while adhering to application installation and configuration requirements. * Proactively work with the R&D team to identify proof-of-concept application installation and deployment requirements, evaluate available automation/deployment technologies for best-fit solutions. * Ability to ''document as you go'' so that p-o-c solutions created can be more quickly productized. * Be able to quickly ramp up on and assess technologies used in the application or to simplify deployment automation and monitoring. * Review deployment architectures and provide feedback on best practices and improvements on efficiency and cost. Job Requirements * A degree in Computer Science or other related degree (additional 6 years of experience in lieu of degree) * At least six years of professional experience in software development, with two of thoseyears working on DevOps work (automation of application deployment) * Proficient with Ansible, Python and AWS technologies (i.e. VPC, EC2, load-balancers, ECS, EKS etc) * Proficient with software installation and configuration on Linux, Windows Server OSes * Proficient in Shell, Bash and various scripting libraries * Possess a strong development background, understands software design and development best practices, and source code maintenance practices such as versioning, branching and tagging * Strong understanding of networking concepts, such as subnetting, routing, public vs private networks, hands on experience setting up various forms of networks a plus * Experience with automation and deployment of network centric products and solutions a plus * Experience building enterprise deployments on AWS (GCP a plus) * Experience with automated creation of Cloud resources using tools such as CloudFormation, ECS/EKS, load-balancers, SDKs, CLI a plus * The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information which requires US Citizenship Only Telos maintains a drug-free workplace and will conduct drug testing on all applicants who have accepted an offer of employment.
