Pay range is $16-$20.00 per hour depending on experience. The Machine Operator is responsible for running various types of equipment. He/She will produce resistance welded cages for the reinforcement of the concrete pipes produced and/or run the re-coiler machine. The operator is to follow the schedule which is produced by his supervisor. The coils and cages are to be inspected visually and physically for deficiencies in the welding process. The operator will adjust if deficiencies are found with the welding process or notify his supervisor. The material must be handled properly. Housekeeping around the machine and department is an absolute must.Responsibilities:Perform pre-operation inspections on an assigned forklift to ensure it is in safe operating condition, report at once any safety concerns or operational issues with the forklift.Operate the forklift within established standard safety guidelines and operate based on plant conditions.Yard loading reinforced concrete pipe using a 36,000 lb. forkliftMaintain cleanliness of the vehicle both inside and out to ensure proper working condition.Maintain proper fluid levels and lubrication of the forklift.Operate the lift in a manner that does not damage the lift, other equipment, or property.Support production by transferring steel cylinders 30" in diameter through 124" up to 50'' long in each process in a timely manner.Yard steel cylinders in an organized fashion by size, job, and the designation such as short pipe and specials to ensure proper flow of product through each process.Additionally, support production by transferring scrap steel, trash boxes, and other materials to keep areas clean and organized.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions.
