Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC) is seeking a talented Data Scientist with extensive government experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Role Overview: FTC is seeking a talented Data Scientist to support the Defense Intelligence Agency.* Understand existing practices and resulting analytic inefficiencies or tradecraft deficiencies; develop recommendations for applying quantitative methods to improve accuracy.* Consult Senior data scientists to ensure that proposed methods are appropriate for the current workflow. * Explain the strengths and weaknesses of proposed methods; support analysts and teammates in evaluating the appropriate suggested methods for specific use cases. * Work in partnership with tradecraft methodologists to facilitate digestion of stochastic components or model generated outputs. * Collaborate with Software developers on ways to scale proposed quantitative methods beyond a ''sandbox'' experimental environment to production tools and data, and ultimately transitioned to enterprise-wide deployment.* Develop, monitor, and evaluate advanced analytic methods as they are applied to live use-cases.* Assist analysts with interpreting and using new analytic methods or tools developed* Draft visual and graphical narrative products depicting trends in existing data, as well as ''what if'' scenarios.* Develop and utilize machine learning and data mining algorithms, including prediction algorithms based on open source capabilities.* Code and Integrate algorithms to support Government intelligence search and discovery missions.* Make best practice recommendations on managing data within hardware, software, storage, and bandwidth constraints. * Support predictive analysis, social media and crowd-source data analytics, war gaming, and strategy development.* Apply exploratory analysis and rapid iteration techniques of large volumes of data to quickly derive intelligence. * Prepare products to describe and document findings and activities.Required Skills & Experience * Specialized Training related to one-or-more disciplines relevant to data analysis and data-driven process improvement. * 4 years of experience programming skills in Python, R, or Matlab.* Demonstrated work, research or educational experience in a field relevant to data science, data analysis, and/or evaluating analysis methods; for example, mathematics, statistics, information science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, network science, probability modeling, data mining, data engineering, data warehousing, data compression, data protection, and/or other scientific techniques.* Successful applications of quantitative methods to achieve improved products in a military and intelligence environment.* Understanding of how to integrate quantitative methods into new or existing tools and technologies* Understanding of how to scale and adapt recommendations to fit organizations'' unique needs.* Ability to communicate findings and how to apply recommendations to a diverse audience with varying technical literacy or data science understanding.* Ability to work side-by-side with federal counterparts on a multi-disciplinary team.* Strong verbal presentation and writing skills, including the demonstrated ability to write clear and concise textual products.* Proficiency in correlating complex, technical findings into graphical, visual, and verbal narratives.Professional Certification(s): Formal Education: Bachelor''s Degree in computer science, mathematics or other relevant technical fields. Years of Professional Experience: 8+ years of relevant subject matter experience, or specialized training and 10+ years'' of subject matter experience.
