Per Diem, various hours and shifts a week.Pay Range is between $48.48-$72.72/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. **Range includes per diem differential. +$2.50/hr for evening and weekend shifts. Facilitates the care of patients with minor illness.JOB QUALIFICATIONSSpecial Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)Possession of a Colorado State Nurse Practitioner license. National Nurse Practitioner Certification required by 12/31/17 for current employees or within conditional period of employment for new hires. Prescriptive authority required.Must be credentialed by BCH Medical Staff Office prior to hire date.BLS certification required by the end of conditional period.Knowledge, Skill and AbilityKnowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, and primary and urgent care.Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and proceduresKnowledge of medical equipment and instrumentsKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environmentSkill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide episodic patient careSkills in taking medical history to assess medical condition and interpret findingsSkill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondenceSkill in developing and maintaining department quality assuranceSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.Ability to maintain quality improvement and controlAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situationsAbility to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and proceduresAbility to communicate clearlyExperienceThree years of professional nursing experience in an emergency setting preferredTwo years experience as NP preferredWORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESUrgent Care setting/physically demanding at times. Work pace determined by patient census and acuity level of patients.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit.The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed).Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell and touch.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESObtains complete medical history and physical data on terprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.Performs a thorough physical exam, and records findings. Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.Administers medications and injections as needed.
