Element Solutions Inc is a leading specialty chemicals company whose businesses supply a broad range of solutions that enhance the products people use every day.Job PurposeThis position is responsible for purchasing raw materials and finished goods into the Ferndale, MI facility through SAP or purchase request systems.Job Responsibilities* Work very effectively across all functions in the company* Analyze ERP recommendations and anticipate demand in order to purchase enough, but not too much material.* Manage inventory* Hold suppliers accountable for accurate quality, prompt acknowledgements, established delivery dates, and proper labeling of incoming materials* Utilize SCARs to correct substandard behavior* Maintain positive relationship with suppliers* Negotiate short lead-times, low prices and occasionally return obsolete raw materials.Requirements* Minimum 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably with chemicals.* Strong negotiation, cost reduction and analysis skills* Work very effectively across all functions in the company* Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills enabling the effective communication of ideas, methods, and solutions to complex problems* Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and MRP systems (SAP preferred)Competencies1.
