Job Type Full-time Description JOB SUMMARY:The Club Technician (CT) is responsible for the care, repair, and maintenance of the functionality, safety, and appearance of our Club locations. This is achieved through the preventative and restorative maintenance of our buildings, building systems, equipment, and properties (as permitted). Additionally, as the on-site "subject-matter expert", the CT will coach Club Custodians (as assigned) to assist the CT with light Club Maintenance, and Technician Trainees to develop future Club Technicians. The CT will be responsible for making repair & maintenance recommendations to the General Manager and other parties, for consideration and approval. For emergencies that arise, the CT will be the "boots on the ground" with support from their Area Facilities Manager. The Club Technician is a specialist role, that greatly impacts our member and team member experience!DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Drive Business Results:Provides repair vs. replacement recommendations to the General ManagerSupports capital repair & improvement projects in partnership with Construction Team, Area Facility Manager, or Fitness Equipment ManagerTracks and manages all work orders through the computerized maintenance management system, and notes amenities down and/or repairs in progress, delayed, and/or completedMaintains In-Shape & OSHA safety standards and protocols at Club and performs checks as requiredPerforms work after hours and weekends as directedDeliver the Member Experience:Attends & participates in team meetings/activities as required by Field or Support CenterEnsures Club is held to all safety and accessibility requirements, including but not limited to fire extinguishers, fire sprinkler inspections, emergency exits, exit lighting, fire & burglar alarm systems, fire dept. requirements, lock-out/tag-out, elevator, and ADA accessibility pathwaysSupports emergency response (triage) efforts for the repairs of our buildings, building systems, equipment, and properties (as permitted)Conducts daily walk-through of facility to assess building systems and fitness equipment for proper condition. Performs required repairs or maintenance in a timely mannerOperational Excellence:Responsibility for following and adhering to our OneTeam approach on club cleanliness and safety standards outlined in our Cleaning standards playbook. This includes keeping the club clean & sanitized (free of trash, equipment picked up and organized, and wiped down with sanitizing agent); on a regular basis and directed by club leadershipWorks closely, meets daily, and (when possible) walks the Club with the General Manager (GM) to align and prioritize daily & weekly repair & maintenance tasksPartners with General Manager to adhere to budget policies for repair & maintenancePerforms repairs & maintenance on fitness equipment, plumbing, electrical, pool, steam, sauna, and mechanical systems, along with cosmetic repairs including but not limited to drywall, texture, paint, tile, & groutAssist the team by performing cleaning & sanitizing when not engaged in maintenance or repair, and/or as requested by the General ManagerPerforms cosmetic facility repairs to items including but not limited to drywall, texture, paint, tile, and groutOrders parts as needed through online resources, internal requisition system, or locally as approved, communicating to GM & Support Center leadershipAttend trainings online, in-person, and off-site (as required)Acts as the on-site point of contact for outside service providers and third-party vendorsSubmits Credit Card & Expense Reports along with receipts by deadlines per current policyEnsures compliance of City, County, State ordinances and codesDemonstrate OneTeam Attitude:Performs active training & development of Club Technician Trainees using existing issues to demonstrate live troubleshooting and repair, while concurrently providing learning opportunitiesPerforms active training & development of Club Custodians on basic repairs (e.g., low level light bulb replacement, soap dispenser replacement, etc.)Resolve concerns/problems ensuring our members needs are met and company guidelines are followedAnalyze, interpret, and follow company policies (written, oral, diagram and/or schedule form) to ensure safety of our club and team membersFlexible/positive attitude in meeting and exceeding our members expectationsRevised: 05/21/2020 Requirements REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:Possess knowledge of and have experience with managing and/or repairing mechanical, plumbing, & electrical systems, experience with trade work, fitness equipment, or CPO training, a plusExperience working in a health club, hospitality, retail, property management, assisted living community, or industrial environmentTravel to other Clubs for projects as neededMust be available for overtime and after-hours workMust maintain suitable transportationMust be organized, detail-oriented, and resourcefulMust be curious and willing to learn new processes/technical skills, and be willing to teach othersMust have basic computer proficiencyExperience with the Microsoft Office with emphasis on MS Outlook and Word; Excel a plusExcellent communication skills, work well under pressure given time constraints, and displays positive behavior in all member contactsAttend and participate in required meetings and trainings as neededWilling and able to work a flexible shift: evenings, weekends, and holidaysBilingual skills a plusCurrent CPR certificate or the ability to pass an approved CPR certification within 60 days of hire dateKEY BENEFITS AT IN-SHAPE:Complimentary health club membershipCasual work environmentDiscount on personal training and all retail itemsMobile phone stipendMileage reimbursement for work-related travel401(K) savings planMedical, dental, vision, and additional benefit plans availableWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day; sitting is seldom to occasional. Employees may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Employees are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements. The employee may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.During the COVID-19 pandemic: All In-Shape Team Members will be required to assist with greeting members to perform temperature checks and health screens, ensure members practice physical distancing and monitor cleaning of equipment after each use. Detailed instructions will be provided at time of -Shape Team Members will be required to comply with company policies regarding the use of PPE (personal protective equipment), by following instructions and outlined safety guidelines, to protect our team and club members. Club Safety training and equipment will be provided.
