The Specialty Pharmacy Program is based out of our Durham Outpatient Center on the Nebraska Medicine campus.Our Specialty Pharmacy Program is designed to streamline patient care for a group of complex medication therapies that require very specific monitoring and follow up. The Nebraska Medicine specialty pharmacy program is a partnership with Nebraska Medicine Specialty Providers and the outpatient specialty pharmacy team. The collaborative effort is designed to eliminate barriers to specialty medication access and provide optimal pharmacy services focused on quality and safety. The Specialty Pharmacy at Nebraska Medicine was the first URAC accredited specialty pharmacy in the state of Nebraska and one of the first academic medical centers nationally.Our Specialty Pharmacy Technician role is currently offering a $1500 sign on bonus. Come join us!!Why Nebraska Medicine:Our shared values reflect who we are and why we''re here and include, Innovation, Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, Courage and petitive Benefits including retirement match contribution, PTO accrual, tuition reimbursementLead the world in transforming lives to create a healthy future for all individuals and communities through premier educational programs, innovative research, and extraordinary patient careForbes Magazine recognizes us in their list of America''s Top Employers and the Best Employer in NebraskaJob Description: Specialty Pharmacy TechnicianPrepares and dispenses medication upon receiving prescription from prescribers and processes all related duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.Required Qualifications: Specialty Pharmacy TechnicianMinimum of one-year external Pharmacy Technician experience or Nebraska Medicine Pharmacy Technician experience with exposure to Specialty Pharmacy required.Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on-the-job training required.High school education or equivalent required.Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a handheld calculator required.Exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills required.Licensed Nebraska pharmacy intern or registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.Pharmacy Technician Certification within twelve months of licensed date required.Preferred Qualifications: Specialty Pharmacy TechnicianWork experience which demonstrates analytical ability, judgment, and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare preferred.Proficiency and experience with third party claims adjudication and claims rejection reconciliation preferred.Proficiency and experience with non-sterile, sterile, and hazardous drug compounding preferred.Pharmacy technician experience at Nebraska Medicine preferred.Associates degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred.Experience and proficiency with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or comparable program.Nebraska Medicine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
