Kratos Space & Missile Defense Systems (Kratos) is seeking a senior hypersonic engineering leader to support hypersonic and reentry vehicle development programs. Kratos is known for performing launch vehicle flight services for the US military, NASA, and foreign allies all over the world. All efforts are managed ''end-to-end'' and include mission planning, design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and launch operations in an agile environment. The candidate will provide hypersonic technical leadership for Department of Defense and other national security customers. In this technical postion, the candidate will apply domain knowledge to concept, develop, mature, test, and execute missions for complete hypersonic systems and subsystems.Kratos is well known for performing launch vehicle operations all over the world and has performed several hypersonic missions over the last decade, rapidly advancing capabilities for the US and Foreign Allies. Unique hypersonic efforts are underway at Kratos that require additional hypersonic technical leadership to continue the successful track record and growth of the business.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Primary functions with support from engineering team-* Establishing concept of operations for missions and launch vehicles* Developing system requirements and performing necessary requirements analysis for missions and launch vehicles* Assessing multidisciplinary system-level risks, opportunities, interfaces, impacts, etc.* Decomposing system requirements for internal deliverables, subcontractors, and suppliers for hardware and software* Develop, manage, monitor, and execute systems engineering management plans, integrated test and evaluation plans, analysis plans, risk management plans, system safety plans, etc.* Author, review and help execute test plans and procedures* Perform and communicate trade studies and conceptual analyses* Perform and execute strategic program planning* Perform risk and opportunity management and related analysis* Perform verification and validation activities* Author and present customer deliverables related to systems engineering* Support range safety and system safety related activities to meet DoD and range requirements* Coordinate configuration management activities related to the mission and productEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering is required* A minimum of 5 years experience with Hypersonic/Reentry Systems Engineering requiredRequired* US Citizen* Current DoD Secret Clearance or higher* System integration and verification experience* Reentry vehicle or hypersonic vehicle mission planning, design, analysis, or test experience* Design and/or analysis experience in aerodynamics, aerothermal physics, and or related subjects* Experience developing test plans, procedures, specifications, ICDs, and executing subsystem tests* Strong written and verbal communication skills required for interfacing with customers and usersPreferred* MS or Ph.D. in science or engineering discipline stronly preferred* Development and negotiation of requirements with multiple stakeholders* Design and/or analysis experience in hypersonic and/or reentry CFD, aerothermal materials response analysis* System level design review leadership* Previous roles as a team lead for product development* Experience leading systems engineering teams* Familiarity with mission planning, range safety, and launch vehicle system designTravel up to 25% may be required.LI-AC1
