Senior Heat Transfer Engineer

Florida Turbine Technologies (FTT) a division of Kratos Security and Defense is focused on the development and production of small, affordable, high-performance jet engines for cruise missiles and unmanned aerial systems (UAS). We provide turbomachinery and propulsion related solutions across a broad range of industry applications. FTT also provides engineering services, testing services, and material solutions for military and commercial engines, space propulsion, and industrial power-producing applications. Kratos leverages cross-industry capabilities to deliver innovative, cost-saving solutions for its customers.FTT has an immediate need for a Senior Heat Transfer Engineer that will have the overall responsibility to perform cooling designs, secondary flow analysis, and finite element analysis for commercial and military turbine engine programs. This position provides opportunities for diverse technical challenging''s to work on a unique set of programs in a team environment,* 12+ years applied industry thermal design experience in turbine components, combustion hardware and secondary air systems* BS required, M.S.M.E Preferred. Proficiency in fundamental analyses ''hand-calculations'' and a good understanding of practical design limitations.* Specializing in computational simulation of heat transfer, fluid dynamic behavior and correlation with experimental testing.* Experience in cutting-edge technologies (Conjugate CFD codes, additive manufacturing, CMC) and proficiency in MSC Easy5 and ANSYS FEA is desired.* Skilled at characterizing risk to produce balanced design solutions* Experienced in all phases of development: conceptual design, analysis, manufacturing, validation, and field service* Awareness of turbomachinery cycle performance drivers and trade factors* Technical leadership abilities capable of functioning as key heat transfer specialist and technical focal point* Excellent interpersonal skills: experience integrating work in a team, interfacing with customer, mentorship* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
