In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".The Integrated Oncology division of LabCorp is seeking a technician to join their Molecular Oncology team! The technician team performs a variety of functions supporting the Molecular Oncology department.This position will have 1st shift hours from 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Sunday - Thursday. Responsibilities:Coordinates, identifies and requests shared samples.Addresses and responds to specimen inquiries throughout the day.Corresponding with other laboratory support groups to resolve client inquiries and concerns.Review test orders prior to specimen processing to ensure sample type is appropriate and all necessary information is included. Including identifying mis-orders and contacting clients to obtain information necessary to complete testing performed at CMBP.Calling clients to notify them of delayed or abnormal test results.Adhere to the laboratory''s quality control policies and maintains appropriate logs and records as required.Adhere to the laboratory''s safety and compliance policies.Maintain 5S responsibilities.RequirementsRequires an Associates degree in a life science OR a high school diploma with 1-2 years of medical or healthcare experienceStrong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAttention to detail and critical thinking skillsExcellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.Previous experience working in a lab setting preferred, but not requiredPrevious customer service experience preferred, but not requiredThe 7,000-acre Research Triangle Park is the largest research park in the United States, and is home to over 140 organizations (Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, and Information Technology /Telecommunications) and has around 45,000 full time employees entering the Park each day.
