Find your future with us.The F-15 Mission Systems Software Team is seeking a Chief Software Architect (Level 5) to lead the development and execution of new architecture solutions for emerging and existing F-15 International and USAF programs located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The successful candidate will work with the F-15 Missions Systems team, F-15 systems engineering team, F-15 program management, and others to develop overall software solutions within the Advanced Display Core Processor II (ADCPII) avionics subsystem. Upon successful design of an architecture that meets all system requirements, the architect will lead the engineering team in its implementation and maintenance of that design through the development, lab test and flight test phases of the development cycle.The Mission Systems Software Team develops real-time embedded Operational Flight Program (OFP) software that resides in the heart of the F-15 Weapon System, the Mission Computer. The software written by this team enables the F-15 aircraft''s mission capability by interfacing with multiple avionics subsystems (radar, weapons, sensors, etc.) and by implementing algorithms and developing the crew vehicle interface displays. The team is responsible for the design, code implementation, and the various levels of testing of the OFP software as well as supporting the development of the system and subsystem requirements.The team develops products for both United States Air Force (USAF) and international customers, although this position will be specifically geared towards executing on international efforts. This position is accountable for delivery of a suitable technical design for delivered program software. Responsibilities also include: coordination with program management, suppliers, and other Boeing teams and providing technical guidance to team members.Position Responsibilities:Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systemsLeads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software systemDevelops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are metProvides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activitiesLeads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metricsPlans, executes and documents software research and development projectsServes as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulationsTracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standardsDevelops Architecture RoadmapsWorks under very minimal directionThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires an active Secret Clearance level U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):10 years'' experience in Real-Time Embedded Software DevelopmentPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in fixed wing fighter aircraft software developmentExperience in the following areas is highly desirable: object-oriented software development; leading using the Agile Software Development or SAFe paradigm; Ada, C/C++, Python, GIT, JIRA, BitBucket, VxWorks, OpenGL and DOORSTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years'' related work experience, Master+12 years'' related work experience)In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standardTravel:Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
