Burroughs offers a nationwide field service organization combined with remote managed services, technical support, help desk, program management and hardware solutions; including ATMs, teller cash automation, servers, smart safes, kiosks and self-service retail solutions throughout U.S. and Canada.Join us to experience what has made Burroughs a great place to work since 1886!Job Summary:Under direct supervision of the VP of Sales, the Technical Sales Consultant works within Sales th in a pre-sales capacity to qualify, design, and consult on customer engagements that require technical knowledge in IT, app integration, eBonding and remote management protocols (etc.) while also being a liaison with Field Service Operations, Product Development and Program Management in architecting new deals. This role is expected to provide service delivery design support, capability (best fit) assessments, requirements gathering & discovery in support of business expansion in existing accounts and supporting new business development. Co-leads with Sales the service scope and discovery process with prospective Partners/Customers in support of and aligned with Burroughs Service Operations. Provides Partner level direct communications and interaction to support deal flow and new business development that appropriately aligns with our capabilities while adhering to established service delivery processes.Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:Supports both Direct and ISRs (as required) teams as a technology SME responsible for all aspects of assigned pre-sales activities and Burroughs services offer, gathering and presenting customer operational needs, information and requirements to Sales and Operational / Functional leaders to support and then drive appropriate Services design and solutions. Responsible for supporting Sales team revenue growth across strategic industries, select vertical markets and assigned accounts through effective, responsive and timely pre-sales support activities and opportunity prioritization.Support the growth of Burroughs services portfolio in identified technology (Partner / Customer) segments in new and existing accounts, designing and proposing services growth strategies consistent with company and team goals.Actively support deal engagements to coordinate resources and activities across Technical Services Support, IT solution leads, customer needs discovery, data collection and assembly of service requirement inputs to inform and advise of services composition and quoting requirements.Work with Partners in a presales capacity, guiding joint solution creation activities, services scope and clarity in services workflow that informs the Customer and monetary elements of the solution.Pre-sales solution presentation contributor, driver, content creation owner with the designated Sales lead and Product marketing team, including presentation delivery to C-level audiences.New technology assessment and validation of fit and feasibility in alignment with Field Service and Product development functions to formalize solution design and the value prop storyline.Supports service management process development and post-implementation learning to modify standard offerings in new Partner engagement, supporting continuous improvement at the front line.Expected contribution of the Consultant is to support positive new customer experiences, effective use of Sales // BizDev resource time while aligning internal lines of business support resources effectively.Safeguards information of a highly confidential and proprietary nature and deals courteously and effectively with a diverse group of contacts, both inside and outside of the department.Evaluates and identifies process improvement opportunities in the sales process.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong verbal communications skills and possesses exemplary customer service/interpersonal skills. Possesses proficiency in desktop applications and service management (ITIL designation preferred).Possesses excellent multi-tasking and prioritizing skills.Goal orientated, self-motivated and committed to ongoing self-development and the development of others.Possesses proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers and in positive and negative situations/scenarios.Possesses ability to interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction prepare, provide and convey diversified information, which may be technical and confidential in nature.Must have exhibited independent judgment by making sound, justifiable decisions and taking action in solving problems.Education and Experience:Requires 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience. (Preferably Business or IT/IS Technology)8+ years service industry or related B2B experience.Requires strong communication skills, written and verbal, analytical ability, computer literate with application experience (Word, Excel, Visio & Cloud apps, etc.)Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and normal range of temperature and noise; with the opportunity to work from an adequate home office.Requires communications with department, Sr. management personnel, and external customers.Partner / Customer engagements and pre-sales support functions may require travel upto 30% in an average month.Work assignments are diversified and requires moderate dexterity regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination).Work has some stress due to imposed due dates of communications and/or material with external customers.Some physical effort required to remain in sitting position for prolonged periods while concentrating on work tasks.
