BACKGROUND: The Commander, USTRANSCOM, has the mission to exercise operational command over the organization and operation of all assigned forces and staff in accordance with the policies established by the Secretary of Defense. Plans, coordinates, directs, and monitors movement and deployment of forces and material necessary to meet military objectives. Assures integration of components supporting plans for common-user lift of forces and material for contingencies and general war. USTRANSCOM/J2 provides comprehensive intelligence that enables the projection and sustainment of the Joint Force. RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide timely and skilled support related to analytic activities. * Work primarily at the Joint Intelligence Operations Center for Transportation (JIOC-TRANS). * Meet diverse mission sets in an ever-more complex and information-rich environment. * Provide technical support collaborating with existing USTRANSCOM staff comprised of uniformed personnel from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Coast Guard, representatives from National level agencies (CIA, DIA, NGA, NRO, and NSA), service intelligence agencies and National level agencies. * Provide and maintain infrastructure and tools that can be used to deliver end to end solutions to USTRANSCOM/J2''S Big Data and analytical problem sets. * Develop knowledge of USTRANSCOM J2, J3, and J5/4 processes and coordinate with various parts of the command as necessary. * Collaborate with other experts in their fields within and outside of the DoD to leverage their expertise enabling better products for USTRANSCOM. REQUIREMENTS * Employs intelligence expertise and knowledge to assist in the integration of Defense and National intelligence support capabilities, including collection, analytic and targeting activities, into overarching operational planning functions and efforts across the DoD. * Mission areas for the Intelligence Planner assistance include but not limited to, development of campaign plans, deliberate planning, crisis management, and time sensitive planning in accordance with the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES) * Assist with red teaming and intelligence operations feasibility assessments within the planning process. * Coordinate development of exercise training objectives for each Division in the USTRANSCOM/J2. * Develops exercise injects to evaluate completion of training objectives. * Coordinates intelligence requirements and prepares intelligence staff estimates in accordance with CJCS instructions and command requirements. * Authors intelligence support annexes (Annex B) for a variety of OPLANs based on the Defense Planning Guidance. * Support the development of the Annual Joint Assessment and related nominations to the commander''s integrated priority lists. * Support command battle rhythm events and B2C2WGs that require intelligence planner support * Document and develop the Intelligence Directorate''s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP Plan) and document mission decomposition to assess COOP requirements. * Support the command''s COOP development. * Use the Task Management Tool to complete staff tasks related to intelligence planning duties on time. * Prepare entries for the Weekly Activity Report for submission to the Director of Intelligence. * Possess familiarity with the Joint Planning process and planning products. * Support planning intelligence operations and providing intelligence support to planning. * Support exercise development. * Exceptional oral and written communication skills * Valid US Passport. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE : Mid Level : Bachelor''s Degree in a related field; Minimum eight (8) years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the position, with at least a portion of the experience within the last two (2) years.
