Raytheon Intelligence and Space, located in Richardson, Texas (Cityline) is looking for a candidate to join our world-class engineering team as a Senior Principle Software Architect. The candidate will comprehend and translate customer needs into viable architectural design solutions, have a solid foundation in Java, and extensive experience working in a LINUX or UNIX environment. They must also be able to use their sound and demonstrable understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns, and Object-Oriented architecture. The candidate must also demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well. The candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment using agile development principles.Job responsibilities include:Working together with the team to deliver great products for the user with the resources availableIntroduce modern architecture and design solutions and processes to improve the productIdentify, manage, and mitigate technical risksHelp mentor and foster technical and professional development of the teamClearance Requirements:An active and in-scope Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. security clearance.Work Location:Richardson, TXRequired Skills:8+ years software architecting experienceSoftware development experience in Java and 4+ years of experience with RESTful servicesArchitecting using MicroservicesExperience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Technologies including the integration and use of AWS services with custom developed applicationsAbility to integrate a wide variety of applications from various sourcesExperience architecting/designing to meet data processing performance requirementsDevelopment with database experience (e.g., JDBC, Postgres, MongoDB)Effective presentation and written communication skillsDesired Skills:Experience developing, testing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework including: Helm and Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), Building automated tests, and Agile and DevSecOps toolsets (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, etc.)Multifaceted code language developer (e.g. Java, C/C++, Python, Groovy, Ruby, Bash)Experience using SOAP-based web services (interface definition, implementation, WS-Security)Security+ CertificationEducation Requirements:10 years of relevant experience with a BS degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, preferred); or 8 years of relevant experience with a MS STEM degreeRequires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.May have deep knowledge of project management.
