Project Manager / Team Lead (''M2'') Coverent is seeking a project manager --referred to as the level 2 manager or team lead or ''M2''--to manage a Coverent team supporting a large program for a client in the US Intelligence Community. The M2 is responsible for helping Coverent''s employees flourish & thrive and connect with the company, while also supporting the M3 achieve full delivery and growth on the contract. The position features the opportunity to interact with key stakeholders, including senior Coverent leaders and senior level customer management. This is an exciting opportunity for an organized, energetic, and billable employee to help Coverent provide a meaningful and rewarding experience to our employees while they deliver impactful results to their customers. Required Qualifications * US Citizenship. * Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly. * Must have a bachelor''s degree. * 2+ years of experience working in an IC component. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills and experience mentoring and developing subordinates. * Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint. * Ability and willingness to put in extra time over full-time hours as needed. Desired Qualifications * Desire to grow into higher management roles within the company, and to tackle more and more responsibility in an effort to achieve career growth goals. * Interest in and willingness to learn the business side of government contracting and personnel management. * Either currently serving on the program; or previous tenure on this program. Expectations * This project manager (M2) will directly manage 7 full-time staff and is responsible for administrative management of individuals as well as team performance. The M2 will be responsible for reviewing team members'' contract tasks or work products for quality delivery, as well as ensuring time tracking, leave tracking, forecasting employee reviews, and other administrative aspects of the project. * Effective completion of the M2 manager responsibilities will require working more hours than a standard full-time billable commitment (1860) in order to meet customer and/or corporate expectations. * When accepting a manager role, Coverent managers are given the autonomy to work when they need to work, which may mean 40+ hours in a week. This does not exempt from core hours coverage at their customer. * M2s are responsible for regularly updating, managing and maintaining their team''s forecast hours on the contract. * M2s are personally responsible for the development of their direct reports, which includes personally coaching and training them, as well as delegation of tasks; For programs where the M2 is not collocated or able to supervise an employee directly, the M2 is expected to proactively seek feedback and provide/arrange for mentoring and coaching on the employee''s performance and development. * M2s are proactive and work together across programs (and sometimes portfolios or LOBs) and internal company functions to share resources and experiences with the goal to improve team members'' efficiency and overall performance. * M2s are responsible for keeping their M3 up-to-date and informed of all happenings with their team. * All managers are expected to be familiar with and exhibit Coverent''s core values, including values and proposition mission statements, by Coverent''s Operating Principles. * Each new manager is subject to an initial three-month trial period. Position Responsibilities Corporate Strategy Contribute to and execute on a Task Order Specific market services strategy consistent with organizational goals and objectives. Mission- and Customer-centricity * Manages the performance of direct reports. * Serves as the primary interface with the Government client, on technical performance, establishing and maintaining a consistently high level of trust and engagement. * Provides quality control for deliverables, if/when applicable. * Continuously gathers information about customer needs; coordinates with and presents ideas or leads to M3 and Government Technical Manager (GTM or PL) for increased mission impact; identifies qualified opportunity to place personnel; may be asked to present technical solutions to COTR in collaboration with M3. * Develops qualified opportunities to improve mission impact. * Provides content for whitepapers, or assists employees with whitepaper production. Methods * Elicits input from team members and develops ideas to apply current and new methodologies on project. * Ensures consistent and correct application of Coverent methodologies (when appropriate) in project delivery to enhance development of a strong Coverent brand. * Supports BD team by replying to requests for project information as needed to respond to market surveys, RFIs, and RFPs. * Collaborates with Management and BD teams on program recompetes. * Conducts knowledge management to incorporate changes to methods and past performance. * Attends any portfolio-relevant communities of interest. Recruiting As needed and advised by the M3 to address staffing risks/gaps and qualified opportunities * Provides input to position requisition; defines relevant keywords to be used in sourcing resumes. * Screens resumes from recruiting (attached to req) - provides feedback to recruiting on accuracy of proposed resumes. * Participates in interviews for candidates across the entire contract. * Prepares and presents resumes to client. * As M2s develop, they may assume responsibility for staffing-related actions and act as hiring manager for the candidates they are interacting with and/or socializing. Talent Performance Management and HR * Coordinates Coverent Talent Management (TM) on new employee start dates. * Coordinates component-specific Security Briefings at Customer when necessary. * Responsible for completing onboarding checklist tasks for new direct reports and marking them as complete in our system. * Conducts TO-level on-boarding with new team members to client culture, team, programs, facilities, read-ins, etc. * Conducts technical onboarding of new employees including working with them on onboarding materials, answering technical questions, connecting them with SMEs and helping them identify key people to know. * Oversees team performance reviews and goal setting. * Participates in 90-day review of direct reports. * Conducts performance review feedback meetings and signs off on performance reviews. * At a minimum, conducts quarterly check-ins with each team member and enables team members to provide feedback. * Participates in performance improvement conversations with M3 and TM, as needed. * Coaches employees on interpersonal and expertise development. * Identifies and escalates personnel issues to M3. * Coordinates with Training and Security coordinator to ensure employee compliance with all required Coverent training courses or security processes, such as Insider Threat training.. * Conducts TO-level off-boarding tasks for departing employees, with M3 and TM. * Escalates/advocates for employees'' interests in corporate resource planning discussions. * Track and recognize team member milestones. * Track and recognize team members'' Kudos. * Attends corporate events and training, e.g. internal management training courses, Manager Dinners, Corporate Functions (annual business meeting, picnic, holiday party, etc.) At Coverent, we are committed to a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
