Assistant Nurse Manager - Transplant Progressive Care Unit Requisition : 530103 Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital Nursing, Baltimore, MD 21201 Category: Nursing Work Shift: Day Shift Work Week: Full Time Weekend Work Required: No Date Posted: May 26, 2022 The Johns Hopkins Hospital Comprehensive Transplant Unit (CTU) Zayed 9 West is a 32 bed adolescent/adult surgical unit. The unit offers 3 levels of care: floor, telemetry, and intermediate levels of care. Care and services provided: post-operative abdominal organ (kidney, liver, and pancreas) transplant recipients; as well as medical management of complications secondary to transplantation. This unit is the designated step down for the Composite Tissue Allotransplantation (hand & face) recipients. The Assistant Nurse Manager - manages the daily operations of the nursing unit, such as staffing, personnel management, environmental monitoring, performance improvement and risk management. Assuring that short-term problems are satisfactorily handled. Indentifying methods to promote cost-effective use of resources. Communicates regularly with the Nurse Manager so that the Nurse Manager can be aware of trends for longer term problem solving. Works collaboratively with, and provides leadership for, a multidisciplinary health care team to optimize team performance and patient outcomes. Shifts: 8 hour shifts Mondays-Fridays Qualifications : BSN / MSN from an accredited nursing program required. Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required Requires 5 years of experience as registered nurse (within the specialty preferred), including 3 years with leadership and/or supervisory responsibilities. Ability to lead others, communicate effectively, problem solve, motivate others, promote cost-effective use of resources, and apply principles of evidence-based practice. Qualifications : BSN/MSN from an accredited nursing program required. Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted 5 years of experience as registered nurse (within the specialty preferred), including 3 years with leadership and/or supervisory responsibilities. Ability to lead others, assist in development & implementation of procedures for the unit, use principles of conflict resolution, recommend resource utilization, and implement performance management of staff.
