In this role you will act as a domain expert, in the field of electrical engineering to the Gas Transmission facilities at Enbridge.Here''s what you will do:Provide Electrical Engineering subject matter expertise to client functional groups in Operations and Projects.Participate in design reviews, incident and failure analysis, risk analysis, and electrical hazard assessment.Liaise with Operations as the Discipline Engineering representative for Electrical Engineering support.Assist with engineering standardization through the authoring and maintenance of engineering standards, specifications, and procedures.Assist with the implementation of electrical safety standards including Arc Flash Hazard Assessments and electrical workplace safety.Maintain knowledge of codes, regulations, and company and professional engineering requirements, and ensure adherence and consistent application within Enbridge.Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex technical problems and systemic issues.Research and broker implementation of new technology and represent Enbridge on industry committees.Identify technical issues, risks, and value adding opportunities.Promotes critical initiatives by communicating with key stakeholder leadership to ensure that operational and economic impacts of technical recommendations are understood and vetted.Participate in, and provide leadership for, the Enbridge Electrical Community of Practice in order to improve collaboration, the helpful exchange of electrical best practices and technologies, and improve corporate-wide effectiveness in the electrical discipline.Who you are:You have:Bachelor''s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline from an accredited university or college.7+ years of applicable engineering experience.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in the English language are essential for this position.Solid understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g. CSA, IEEE, API, NFPA).A valid driver''s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.The following are considered assets:Specific experience in gas transmission pipelinesDetailed knowledge of CSA Z462, NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584.Familiarity with ETAP Software.Experience with electrical safety programs.Experience in managing electrical projects in the gas compression and transmission industryExpertise with large electric motors and drive systems.Familiarity with Solar and/or General Electric gas turbines and their associated electrical auxiliary systems in a gas compression application.Experience in pipeline/powerline mitigationPast design and project management experience on gas compression station electrical systems.Working Conditions:Typical office environment.90% Office, 10% Field.Some driving associated with field travel.Enbridge provides competitive workplace programs that differentiate us and offer flexibility to our team members.
