POSITION DESCRIPTION * Vehicle Operations Manufacturing Engineering (VOME) is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants. * Deliver Manufacturing Quality Operating System requirements for Collaborative Robot Inspection System around Electrical and Powertrain Components. * Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements. * Use virtual tools to evaluate tooling feasibility of new model designs for assembly operations. * Write/modify/maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts. * Lead identification, resolution, and closure of Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) feasibility issues. * Develop and foster working relationships with new and existing tooling vendors to develop new processes/equipment and to continuously improve the equipment we have already deployed. * Lead assembly tooling buy-off, installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site. In addition, support tooling buy-offs at vendor facilities. * Lead Program Cost Studies and work with cross functional teams within the organization to ensure proper Tooling is included and a plan for implementation. * Develop Design and Build Scopes of Work associated with Collaborative Robot Inspection System along with Installation Scopes of Work. * Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product, process and tooling issues. * Review and Develop ''Lessons Learned '' from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs. * Interface with cross-functional activities (Program Implementation Teams, Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs). SKILLS PREFERRED * 3D CAD review abilities (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, or equivalent). * Understanding of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance principles. * Knowledge in the following Ford software systems: AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, E2KS/Auros, AIMS, CPARS/Aurora. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED * 2+ years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering. * 2+ years of experience w/automotive assembly tooling, processes and facilities. EDUCATION REQUIRED * Bachelors in Engineering.
