Job DescriptionCome join our Arizona Diagnostic Radiology team as a PACU Registered Nurse. This per-diemcareer opportunity will work 1-2 Saturdays per month and will be located at our outpatientpractice at our new facility in Phoenix. As a procedure and recovery nurse you will work closelywith our knowledgeable and patient focused team; this is a great opportunity to care forpatients in a one-on-one setting.The Registered Nurse - PACU is involved with the performance of direct and indirect care with patients whose condition requires an intensive degree of nursing skills. The RN - PACU is responsible for independent pre and post-anesthesia management of a complex, varied surgical and procedural population. The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care for surgical patients who may also have underlying medical and emotional problems. With advanced decision making, the Registered Nurse must make skilled and advanced assessments and act in a preventive measure in order to assimilate patient needs, establish priorities, and minimize complication. The Registered Nurse cares for a limited number of surgical patients, making advanced assessments of the patient''s physical and psychosocial needs. The Registered Nurse systematically and continuously collects and assesses data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic care for the patient. The Registered Nurse is skilled in assessment related to pre/post-anesthesia care which includes respiratory, pain management, and patient education. The Registered Nurse works under the direction of the onsite Physician/Radiologist/Anesthesiologist.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare patient for their procedure in the examination rooms for procedures using proper techniquesAssess patients'' pre-procedure; including review of labs, health history, medication screening and verification preparations for proceduresAssist the Anesthesiologist with the administration of general anesthesia for the procedureMonitors intra-procedure of patients''; which includes ECG rhythm and use of Aldrete scoringPerform vascular access for administration of IV medicationAdministers conscious sedation medications in a safe manner as neededMonitors post-operative patients'' levels of consciousness during recovery; which includes measuring and recording patients'' vital signsClosely observes patients for signs of side effects of sedation medication, including pain, nausea and other post-operative symptomsMaintains proper documentation, chart patient histories and physicals, including appropriate documentation of medical records, updating of medical charts, patient files and medical recordsDevelops a therapeutic relationship by establishing and trust and enabling the patient to verbalize the requirements of care comfortablyConducts all medication inventories to ensure compliance and accountability, ensures maintenance and restocking of crash cart, to include all life support equipmentConduct supply reviews after each caseLearn all associated MRI safe equipment operationsLearn all associated MRI safe protocols - as all team members will be working in the MRI environmentWe offer hands-on training, advancement opportunities, inter-company transfer opportunities, paid sick-time off, a pre-tax matching 401k plan, DailyPay (access to your pay prior to regularly scheduled pay days when you need it), and a host of other perks!RadNet is an equal opportunity employer, committed to cultural diversity. RequirementsMinimum Qualifications, Education and ExperienceAssociates or Bachelor of Science Degree in NursingArizona State Registered Nurse LicenseCurrent and valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)Certified post-anesthesia nurse (CPAN) preferred or previous experience within DOU, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Surgery/Operating Room or Post-Operative RecoveryExtensive experience in measuring and interpreting vital signs and levels of consciousnessAdvanced knowledge of best practices in patient careExceptional interpersonal, communication and collaboration skillsOutstanding organizational and time management abilitiesAbility to work on an as needed or per-diem basis
