This includes supplier analysis and selection for given specifications based on quality, delivery, and price. Manage supply base to ensure company and departmental goals and objectives are achieved.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESManage supply base to ensure on time delivery of parts and services. Monitor and analyze supplier performance per supply chain management guidelines. Conduct supplier reviews as necessary.Award purchase orders from approved requisitions for materials and services with respect to quality, delivery, and price.Develop and/or maintain mutually beneficial relationships with strategic suppliers/partners.Review and analyze assigned categories for total supply chain cost reduction opportunities, quality improvement projects, and risk mitigation opportunities.Coordinate and lead supplier evaluation teams to qualify new suppliers.Coordinate and lead early supplier involvement meetings related to item design/manufacturing review with suppliers and internal teams.Actively participate in cross-functional teams related to new product development, quality-driven material review boards, and operational process improvements.Obtain material or service price estimates and lead times for Production Control or Engineering as required.Enter requisitions and purchase orders for new design or production sample parts as required.Prepare capital requests for new tooling or other expenditures and maintain corresponding files.Assist in resolving receiving and invoicing discrepancies.Collaborate with department colleagues and other company team members; develop and maintain a positive team-oriented work environment.Keep current with economic, industrial, and political market trends to anticipate impact to material and service cost and availability.Other responsibilities include but are not limited to order acknowledgment processing, order expediting and follow up, supplier file maintenance, price file maintenance, and other miscellaneous department support responsibilities as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor''s degree in business or related field desirable3+ years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentISM Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM), or APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) desirableFamiliarity with manufacturing systems such as ISO and MRPOTHER SKILLS & ABILITIESGood negotiation and business relationship building skillsComfortable with presenting verbal and written communications to suppliers and internal customers at various levels within the organizationProfessional disposition while handling multiple and changing prioritiesUp to 15% local and domestic travelAbility to work and visit production manufacturing areas in a safe manner
