The Digital Marketing Manager will plan, operate, and manage all marketing-related technologies and take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to use technology to support the firm''s marketing and business development efforts. The Digital Marketing Manager will be a well-organized, efficient, highly collaborative team player, who is able to manage and lead new projects while maintaining and improving ongoing marketing systems. This person will demonstrate a strong sense of initiative in seeking out new technologies and solutions that have the potential to be used as effective marketing tools or resources to help drive business growth. Additionally, this individual will have responsibility for working collaboratively with the firm''s Communications Manager to develop thoughtful, effective communications and content campaigns making use of the firm''s website, blog, alerts, video, and social media platforms. This person will infuse the firm''s communications plans with strategic planning that leverages available channels to expand the reach of thought leadership and will report on traction using available reporting and analytical tools. Leveraging the available data, this person will make recommendations on how best to adjust strategy, identify new or different channels for promotion, and make recommendations for future efforts.As a senior member of the team, this person will also have responsibility for evaluating team processes and procedures, making recommendations about process and procedure improvements, and creating process documents for team reference. Office Location:The position is based in Washington, D.C where we offer a flexible hybrid remote/office work policy. RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Contact Management: Maintain the integrity of the data in the firm''s contact management system, InterAction, through consistent review and updating, including through the use of the firm''s enterprise relationship management (ERM) system, InTapp Relationships.Build and maintain targeted mailing lists for firm conferences and events, marketing mailings, and other communications. Build and maintain strategic working lists for referrals, clients, experts, and other groups of key contacts.Develop reports to track and analyze firm relationships, the reach and effectiveness of marketing campaigns, survey participation, and a wide variety of other metrics.Assist in promoting the contact management system within the firm. Provide technical support, training, and direction on contact management-related questions to attorneys and staff. Facilitate and oversee training of Marketing Department team members on use of InterAction and Relationships platforms to support business development and cross-marketing projects.Email Marketing:Assist in the development of email marketing strategies.Ensure email-marketing deliverables are consistent with the firm''s brand and marketing objectives.Utilize firm-branded templates in Vuture to create new email marketing messages including newsletters, alerts, invitations, surveys, etc.Coordinate distribution of all external and internal communications including weekly newsletters, and report on tracking data.Manage mailing list subscriptions, including developing strategies to increase subscriptions.Assess the effectiveness of email marketing campaigns, make recommendations for improvement, and implement approved solutions. Website/Intranet:Manage all aspects of the firm''s external website, including developing, maintaining, updating, and proofing of web content to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of information. Work with other members of the marketing department to improve search engine optimization (SEO) in key areas consistent with firm initiatives.Generate monthly reports to assess the effectiveness of marketing technology strategies and tactics, including analytics of website traffic.Work with vendors, as necessary, to execute on approved website projects, such as upgrades, redesigns, or microsites. Manage firm''s blog, InsightZS. Duties include management of editorial team resources and editorial calendar, author assignments, content management, and publication.Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and competitors'' sites in areas of design, functionality, and customer service to continually identify opportunities and areas for improvement. Make recommendations for and supervise the implementation of approved improvements.Manage the Marketing Department page on the firm intranet to ensure marketing information and instructions are up-to-date and accessible to attorneys and firm staff. Misc.:Create and update internal and external PowerPoint presentations and other A/V materials to be used in external and internal presentations. Provide technical support for virtual firm events.Serve as liaison between Marketing and IT teams for implementation of projects with overlapping responsibilities. Develop, implement, and improve departmental procedures to ensure efficiency.Other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of marketing personnel and/or other ZS personnel involved in the firm''s InterAction and InTapp Relationships initiatives.Qualifications:5+ years of relevant digital marketing, web analytics, and research experience.Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel), iManage, Citrix, and Zoom. Technical proficiency with InterAction, Vuture, InTapp Relationships, and Tableau (or similar tools), desired; willingness to learn new technologies and become an expert user.Knowledge of current standards in digital and interactive marketing including current standards for website management, web/Google analytics, search engine optimization (SEO), email messaging, email technology, delivery mechanisms, list management, spam regulations, and social media.An exceptional ability to mine and analyze large amounts of research information, and synthesize and consolidate the information into concise, meaningful, and actionable reports and recommendations. Proficient editing and proofreading skills with a high attention to detail and dedication to high-quality work.Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, professional environment.Strong interpersonal skills reflecting good judgment, responsiveness, and a client service mentality; ability to explain technical complexities to non-technical colleagues and communicate results in a concise manner.Ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals across all levels of lawyers and staff with differing opinions and diverse personalities.Discretion in dealing with confidential information.Experience with editing audio for podcasts and video for web a plus. Experience editing or creating photos and graphics for web a plus.Education and/or Experience:This position requires a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or a similar field. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience, preferably in a professional services or law firm. Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, research materials, and memos. Ability to write highest quality correspondence and material suitable for publication. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, firm personnel, and the public.Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
