The products are sold across a network of sewing machine dealers, mass retailers (e.g., Costco, Walmart, Lidl, MediaMarkt, Carrefour), specialty retailers (e.g., Joann, Michaels), online retailers (e.g., Amazon, Tmall), distributors, and through the company''s 180 internally operated retail stores. ABOUT THE POSITION: The Manager of Global Financial Reporting is primarily responsible for coordinating the year end external audit and assist with month end close. This position will work directly with the auditors to provide them with necessary information. In addition, this position will prepare the US GAAP standard report after results are submitted. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Research accounting issues and prepare position papers.Ability to interact with local controllers and explain generally accepted accounting principles to them.Prepare consolidated financial statements and write related footnotes for annual reports.Lead annual external audit of the company''s accounts including preparation of the cash flow statementInteract with external auditors and manage the year-end audit to ensure that the financial statements get issued no later than March 31.Prepare elimination entries each month after location results are submitted.Prepare a monthly standard report including a cash flow statement.Manage a portion of the monthly close process and provide measures to condense the monthly close cycleWork with SVP Worldwide''s global financial reporting teams to improve current processesPrepare statutory accounts for certain international entitiesMaintain purchase accounting recordsResearch new processes for proper accounting treatmentBecome one of the accounting super users for EBM Catalyst software and convert existing reports to pull data from the new systemParticipate on cross functional teams to develop processes and solve issuesPrepare Ad hoc reporting as required.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education/Experience:A Bachelor''s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field, Master''s Degree preferredCPA or CMA designation preferred.Minimum 7-10 years of experience including a preference to those candidates with a mixed background of industry and public accounting experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting technical skills required.Experience in a multinational company and/or a consumer products company preferred.Recent JDE experience a plus.Exceptional work ethic.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Other Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Contact Management systems; Internet software; Inventory software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.The IndustryThe sewing machine industry is a global industry that is experiencing renewed growth.
