This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The Senior Software Engineer will provide support to the Resilient Space Technologies (RST) group. The RST group is part of Boeing Phantom Works, which creates differentiated capabilities and services by relentlessly pursuing innovation in design, thinking and execution. Phantom Works, in collaboration with proprietary customers, creates next-generation technologies in space for the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business. Phantom Works focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.We are seeking Senior Software Engineers with experience in satellite systems to work in a rapid development environment. These engineers will participate in all phases of the system development life cycle, including development of the software architecture and interfaces, development of verification plans, and documentation of test results. This role will also provide technical leadership to the software team.Position Responsibilities:Work as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment to develop next-Gen prototype payloads for spaceDesign and develop top level software architecture for mission data, including command and telemetry for software both internal to the unit/payload and to external usersDevelop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systemsDevelop code and integrate complex software components into a fully functional software systemDevelop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments; execute test procedures and document test results to ensure software system requirements are metWork with hardware interfacing standards (SPI, I2C, UART) to establish timing process and system synchronizationLead/support development, selection, tailoring and deployment of tools; plan, execute and document software research and development projectsProvide technical leadership to the software team in the execution of the above activitiesHybridThis position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, performing work onsite and remotely. Please note that the hybrid work schedule is subject to program/business needs.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.Basic Qualifications:Must possess a current final Top Secret clearance. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Engineering7+yrs experience with real-time software architectures and embedded software design methodologiesExperience working with Agile software development teams across full software development lifecycle7+yrs of hands-on experience in C/C++, operating systems, I/O drivers, networking, and object-oriented design.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Unix/Linux and/or embedded RTOS involving multi-processing, container architectures, virtual machines, and secure partitioningExperience with delivery of space products, hardware integration, and sell-off of flight hardwareExperience with real-time flight and controls algorithmsExperience with Altera Cyclone V, VHDL/Verilog and Quartus softwareTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years'' related work experience)In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standardRelocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
