Starting Wages:$13.50 - $17.00 per hourThe Buckeye Ranch is currently seeking an Independent Living Specialist to join our My Place team! The Independent Living Specialist provides strength based, and trauma informed, case management for young adults living in the My Place Program.Schedule:Full-time, Non-Exempt (Mainly 2nd Shift): Tuesday - Friday (3pm-11pm), Sunday (8am-4pm)Must be available for meetings every other Wednesday (8am-10am)Location:Columbus, OHWhat you''ll do:Identifies indicators of age-appropriate development in all domains for children of varying ages. Applies knowledge in all aspects of work: screening, care planning, client care, etc.Assists clients in developing age appropriate activities, behaviors and interpersonal skills. Sets and obtains conformance to clear behavioral limits appropriate for the client''s background and development.To assist young adults with and teach them the daily living skills that will aid them in becoming functionally independent.Develops collaborative relationships with providers of services tailored to the needs of culturally diverse healthcare consumers and family members.Supervise multiple clients in milieu settings through active engagement utilizing strength-based language in interactions.Supervises individual and group activities and behaviors to establish and maintain a positive treatment environment.Provides effective feedback to clients on an ongoing basis in a trauma informed manner to clients'' emotional needs.Helps with establishment of daily goals and follows up to assure attendance and participation in scheduled activities.Provides transportation for the clients as neededIntervenes as needed to manage or assist in crisis situations.Who you are:You have a high school diploma or GEDYou preferably have two years of experience working with youthYou have an active Driver''s License and proof of car insuranceOur benefits:Generous paid time off and paid holidaysMedical, dental, vision, life, 401-k plan, short and long-term disabilityAnd more...Learn about The Buckeye Ranch:The Buckeye Ranch opened as a treatment center for 10 young men and has now transitioned into one of the country''s leading providers of emotional, behavioral, and mental health services for children and families.
