For more information, visit . SUMMARY The Human Rights Unit Advisor will support the vetting, tracking, coordination, and maintenance of records on planned U.S. actions in the UN system. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Conduct vetting of civil society organizations seeking consultative status with the UN to ensure there are no conflicts of interest with established standards. * Track responses from U.S. Missions, including front channel cables, responding to IO lobbying requests for priority actions and positions in the UN system. * Assist in moving draft responses through the clearance process to final IO Front Office approval and transmittal. * Pull final transmitted cables from SMART and save in office shared folders. * Keep and update office matrices that track engagement during UN sessions as part of our Third Committee and HRC engagement, to include resolutions, interventions, statements, side events, panel discussions, core group membership, Groups of Friends, among others. * Produce reporting materials for senior Bureau officials on inquiry topics, volume, response progress, data, trends, and follow-up actions. These may take the form of tables, charts, graphs, and other briefing and supporting documents, as appropriate. * Support official visit planning, meeting scheduling, notetaking, and record maintenance. EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE * Master''s Degree in International Affairs or equivalent and one (1) year of relevant professional experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Ability to serve in a fast-paced work environment on high-profile issues with changing priorities and competing demands. * Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team with flexibility to adapt to differing perspectives and communication styles. * Ability to serve in a liaison capacity, working with both internal and external interlocutors to advance mission objectives. * Ability to work within a range of software programs, intranet sharing platforms, and software applications to support office, bureau, and department objective execution. * Ability to conduct research, run queries, identify, and synthesize key points, and develop presentations to advance information gathering, communication, and retention, and effectively briefing critical information both orally and in writing. * Ability to perform general office duties, including but not limited to preparing and routing correspondence, maintaining electronic filing systems, timely filing and sharing of material using appropriate, user-friendly methods. * An Active SECRET Security Clearance with ability to obtain TOP SECRET/SCI. WORK ENVIRONMENT A climate-controlled office environment. Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.
