For more information, visit Job Description: Reporting to the Senior Director, MedTech Digital Innovation Communication, this critical role will lead strategic communication for the Robotics and Digital Solutions (RAD) organization. This includes building a deep understanding of the business, market opportunities and therapeutic areas to inform the development and implementation of an integrated global communications plan for multiple audiences in support of business objectives. The Director, Robotics and Digital Solutions communication, will serve as a valued counselor to the RAD platform presidents while also partnering with a cross-functional leadership team to advance organizational priorities, drive strategy alignment, and achieve commercial goals. This role is also responsible for leading employee engagement communication for RAD and advancing culture and talent initiatives to encourage and increase retention, productivity, and pride. The leader will ensure planning and execution of major events, including town halls and employee forums. This will be a highly visible role as you will work in close collaboration with functional colleagues around the world across the Ethicon business, MedTech global communications, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Legal, Johnson & Johnson leadership, and more. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement an integrated global communications plan for multiple audiences in support of RAD business objectives, science, and innovation pipeline. Serve as a valued counselor to the RAD platform presidents while also partnering with a cross-functional leadership team to advance organization priorities, drive strategy alignment, and achieve commercial goals. Lead organizational and internal communication for RAD, advancing culture and talent initiatives to encourage and increase retention, productivity, and pride. Responsible for establishing and executing global content calendar, spanning across earned and paid targeted print, broadcast, online, and social media channels (in conjunction with social media core team). Lead engagement plan and thought leadership opportunities and platforms (i.e. LinkedIn, Industry Meetings, Community and Giving Events). Develop and execute new product introductions, medical evidence, and innovation communicationWork closely with MedTech communications partners to connect reputation-enhancing RAD innovations to broaden company narrative; ensure orchestrated communication of key global priorities, and produce content and tools for global use Partner closely with Investor Relations to strategically communicate RAD initiatives, priorities and achievements with investor and analyst communities Partner with Legal and Media Relations teams to manage issues as needed This leader must be comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments with multiple internal and external partners to consider. A successful candidate will also demonstrate strong executive presence and the ability to thoughtfully advise top executives, comfortably providing alternative points of view. The position will independently lead project teams of agency professionals on both an ongoing and as needed basis. QualificationsEducation: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required in communication, journalism, PR, public affairs, or closely related field Experience and Skills: Required: Minimum Of Ten (10) Years Of Experience Managing Communication in a company, NGO, Government Agency Or Public Relations Agency Is Required. Experience working in the Bay Area, understanding talent and culture. Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to interact with senior leaders is required. Demonstrated ability to build deep, authentic, successful relationships with top executives and scientists and strong influence with senior internal and external stakeholders is required. Exceptional attention to detail with superior writing and presentation development skills. Ability to drive workforce engagement strategies to inspire and increase productivity is required. Ability to manage networks in a matrixed environment is required. Proven track record of successful, independent public relations/communications, corporate communication, science communication, product communication, public affairs, and/or media relations achievements is required. Strong business acumen, confident yet agile personality, the ability to adapt quickly and the ability to provide strong counsel in real time is required. Deep understanding of media and business analytics, traditional media, digital and social platforms and strong experience with national and local lay, professional/trade and social media is required. Experience in managing budgets and resource allocation across large critical projects is required Preferred: Current or past experience with direct People Management skills is preferred. Global mindset and successful track record of working in a global function with direct experience leading international projects, issues and teams, and of competent internal and external stakeholder interactions on an international basis is preferred. Current or past work experience in organizational communications with responsibility for internal and external initiatives is preferred. Proven experience in healthcare communications is preferred.
