We''re looking for an experienced mechanical engineer that can balance discipline and attention to detail with outside-the-box thinking and an innovative problem-solving attitude. Must be a pragmatic, detail- oriented, and mission-driven self-starter. What you''ll do: •Implement mechanical systems, equipment, and packages for electronics •Support the design and develop dynamic tactical communications systems •Generate and review mechanical drawings •Interact with vendors to quote mechanical parts •Participate in integrated product teams and engineering/design reviews •Support team members in the preparation of detail design, design testing, and prototype fabrication •Participate in the definition of electro-mechanical subsystem requirements and specifications We are looking for: •Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years of experience •Familiarity with Engineering Drawing Practices Y14.100 •Expert level of capability with Solidworks software including experience with eDrawings and Model Based Definition (MBD) of products and assemblies •Experience and in-depth understanding of Configuration Management practices •Demonstrated experience involving the design of electro-mechanical systems for military applications •Understanding of conduction and convection based thermal designs •Experience with fabrication methods for sheet metal and machined parts •Experience with additive manufacturing processes •Strong technical, interpersonal, written and verbal skills •Ability to operate effectively in a team environment as well as independently •US Citizen •Your own unique talents! If you meet some requirements of this position but not 100% of the qualifications outlined above, tell us why you''d be a great fit for this role based on your specific characteristics that align with our values and goals Nice to have: •Experience with commercial and military documentation and configuration management •Simulation capability (thermal, structural) •Experience using Solidworks PDM functionality •Knowledge of mechanical part finishes including powder coat, anodize, Alodine (chem film), and plating •Experience in design for TEMPEST, EMI MIL-STD-461, vibration, shock, altitude, high temperature, low temperature, salt fog, blowing dust MIL-STD-810 requirements •Basic EE knowledge including manufacturing processes for CCAs and grounding strategies •Experience working with production personnel and creating written build instructions •Experience in designing complex cable assemblies •EIA-310 cabinet design and familiarity with Navy Environmental Qualification Testing desired •Experience in system design, testing, and analysis •Experience in agile, professional software development environments utilizing revision control, test driven development and continuous integration •Active Secret Clearance
