Position Requirements:Must be a graduate from an accredited AMA school of RadiologyKnowledge of HIS systemBasic knowledge of RIS systemEffective interpersonal skillsIEMA accreditation in medical radiation technology.If registry eligible must pass ARRT within 1 year of new employment.If currently employed by Advocate, must pass ARRT within 6 months of eligibility.CPR certifiedMust be able to make independent professional decisions pertaining to high quality patient careHigh degree of technical skillsMust be able to function with minimal assistance in performing job activitiesMust be conscientious in practicing high quality patient careAbility to work rotating shifts any day of the weekRadiation exposureMust be able to work with extremely ill patientsAbility to lift and/or move patients: Heavy lifting: lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.Ability to work in a fast paced environment with established time constraintsMay be exposed to hazardous materials and life threatening diseases.This position can recognize needs and behaviors of the following age groups: pediatric(newborn, toddler, school age), adolescent, adult, older adult. Evidence of this can be shown by recognizing levels of development and modifying approach and exhibiting communications skills necessary to interpret age specific responses.If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.Purpose:To perform routine and advanced radiographic procedures on designated portion of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury to ensure patient safety and quality care.
