Please visit us at to learn more!POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESThe Counter Sales Professional is responsible for supporting the Resource Center''s Operational performance, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, driving sales and fulfilling customer needs in a manner consistent with the company''s core values.Summary of duties include but are not limited to:Developing and maintaining relationships with customers and providing a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers.Assisting customers in the store by taking their orders, pulling items, and billing them accordingly.Handling customer warranty claims and credit returns in a timely fashion by completing all appropriate documentation, receiving product items back prior to processing of any claims or credits in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP''s).Assisting customers in loading products/material into their vehicles when necessary.Accurately entering sales orders into Sales Order Entry System and sales transactions in accordance with the company''s SOP''s.Assisting in the maintenance and presentation of all inventory and displays by in Resource Center; stocking merchandise, facing shelves, organizing product in accordance with SOP''s, removing litter, dusting and cleaning shelves, etc.Maintaining the Resource Center''s appearance in accordance with Company policy and safety standards.Assisting in inventory counts as needed for both the Resource Center and warehouse as needed.Continuously demonstrating a high-level of product knowledge of all Tropic Supply products and materials.Following-up with customers when required and notifying manager if/when necessary.Performing general light maintenance of the Resource center, coffee counter, ice machine, water fountain, soda machine, customer phones, floor displays and counter.Providing the highest level of customer and technical service to our customers by: effectively meeting our customers'' needs, providing high level of technical expertise and product knowledge, properly providing quotes, promptly and accurately processing sales orders, researching products/services, properly answering questions and providing timely information and responses.Fulfilling/pulling inventory as needed by utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.Safely operating all tools and equipment; including but not limited to forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck, and reporting safety issues immediately.WE OFFER:100% Company Paid Employee Medical and Life InsuranceVoluntary Dental and Visions PlansVoluntary Short-Term and Long-Term Disability401(k) Plan with Company MatchPlus Other Benefits and Discount ProgramsPHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT / WORKING CONDITIONS:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Special vision requirements are near vision; distance vision; peripheral vision. Work is performed with telephone equipment, computers, fax, printer and scanners. Counter is air conditioned. We also offer our employees short term/long term disability policies, dental/vision plans, a matching 401(k) plan and other benefits.QualificationsEXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTSMust be proficient in the use of computers and have ability to learn our parts management software.Must possess good communication skills and ability to professionally interact with a wide variety of customers both over the telephone and in person.Must possess a good work ethic and be able to work well with other team members.Must be able to lift and handle items weighing up to 75 pounds on a routine basis.Must be able to safely operate all tools and equipment; including but not limited to forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.Must possess the analytical and cognitive abilities required to accurately enter data into the Company''s Sales Order Entry System, perform product and equipment research, and enter sales orders into the system and follow-up on customer orders.Must be able to accurately attend to details and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Most possess above average communication skills both verbal and written.Must be able to work with minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions.Proficiency/experience with scanning equipment.
