In this role, you''ll work closelywith the PLOS Leadership Team to establish a vision for your area of ownership. Through strongrelationships with stakeholders, customers and users, you will prioritize needs and wants. You''ll workwith project management to shape initiatives and establish a strategic roadmap and ensure theorganization maintains collective awareness of goals, plans, and progress. You''ll lead buy-versus-buildanalysis and establish compelling business cases. Whether working with implementers of a 3rd-partysolution or PLOS developers, you will ensure a product vision is clearly articulated, solution requirementsare fully understood, and desired outcomes are measurable. Your work will have a material impact onour collective success, helping to fulfill our business objectives, improve our operations, and further ourmission.ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy• Manage business performance of existing reporting solutions and analytics infrastructure• Establish and evolve solution strategies to further business goals• Identify and define epic requirements, manage epic backlog and drive strategic roadmap • Communicate solution strategies and plans within the organization; enable and contribute toexternal communicationProduct Development• Operate in the role of product owner within our Agile SDLC• Identify, define and validate valuable user stories, manage story backlog and scope releases• Collaborate with engineers and designers in solution development and engage stakeholders,customers, and users in acceptance testing as warranted• Communicate release plans and author release notesProduct Support• Lead internal trainings, presentations, and demos of solutions within your area of ownership• Address escalations and field questions from staff• Support sales activitiesQualifications and Experience • BA, BS or equivalent degree required.• Deep knowledge and experience of product management required.• Several years working with reporting solutions and data visualization in a hands-on and designcapacity.• Prior ownership of large-scale datasets and significant experience with tools such as Tableau,Sisense, and/or Microsoft PowerBI.• Experience with reporting platform migrations is highly desired.• Expert communication and negotiation skills required.• Hands-on experience applying one or more modern innovation frameworks (Blue Ocean,JTBD/ODI, Lean, etc.)• Extensive experience conducting market and user research utilizing best practices• Extensive experience operating within an Agile SDLC; comprehensive understanding of Agile bestpractices.We believe in pushing the boundaries of ''Open'' to create a more equitable system of scientific knowledge and understanding"”it''s core to who we are, inside and out.
