Major Responsibilities:Responsible for direct and indirect patient care. Clinical responsibilities vary based upon department specialty. Maintains productivity levels as outlined in departmental standards and goals. Provides clinical coverage as needed by patient volume or work flow. Assists in direct patient care activities, including office procedures, triage, etc. Assists with indirect patient activities, including incoming calls, scheduling appointments, orders tests, etc. Serves as an advocate and liaison between patients, staff, physicians and external customers by sharing necessary information to ensure continuity of care. Reviews CT/MRI orders and completes verification process for each order. Assists the schedulers in scheduling of patients according to current department protocols. Assist departments with questions on CT/MRI orders and add ons. Optimizes all available MRI/CT slots and hours of operation. Continually updates protocols in equipment based on Radiologist recommendations.Responsible for daily team operations, staffing schedules and works to ensure overall work standards and goals are achieved. Ensures high flexibility of staff to minimize downtime and allow for job rotation while ensuring that effective work balance in the team is maintained. Coordinates staffing schedule and works to address staffing issues providing for coverage when warranted. Carries out process audits to confirm maintenance of standard work. Update or create standard work as needed. Carries out AIDET, AOS and additional monthly audits and data tracking. Ensures visual management is maintained and shares feedback with team members regularly.Under direction of dept head, manages technologists'' orientation/training/performance. Upholds clinic policies, serves as role model acting in a manner consistent with Team Member Behaviors. Motivates staff, provides praise/constructive feedback to elicit high levels of productivity. Provides feedback on annual performance reviews; encourages development and/or explain protocol/workflow direction. Verifies (view original, copy/forward) licensure/certification of team ensuring compliance (RN, LPN, CPR, ARRT, ARDMS, etc.). Responsible for orientation/training of new team members under Supervisor''s direction. Conducts ongoing assessment of orientation/training effectiveness; adjusts as appropriate. Evaluates the need for/develops team/individual training sessions reinforcing standardization, flexibility, and new skill sets. Understands and acts in support of dept work standards, procedures, initiatives, and continuous process improvement to positively impact KRAs guiding team members as appropriate. Consistently recognizes problem situations that require action proceeding in a calm, professional manner; demonstrating strong customer service, effective conflict resolution/service recovery skills. Ensures regular communication of clinic, site, and dept information to team as necessary/appropriate.Supports supervisor/manager in a variety of department/administrative functions as directed. Creates and maintains essential data and files to provide for department reports as directed by manager/supervisor. Provide consistent feedback on overall operations of department(s) to their direct supervisor/manager. Coordinate preventive maintenance and on-demand service for all equipment, as applicable. Delegate problems through proper channels and follows through to seek completion. Attend and assist with department, safety and other meetings. Perform additional tasks as assigned.Self Development. Consistently manages time and demonstrates resource management skills effectively to complete daily activities. Maintains licensure/certification(s). Completes clinic competencies as required. Participates in developmental/skills training.Accountable for maintenance of department compliance with Accrediting Organization and departmental establish standards. Maintains knowledge of department Medical Alert and Rapid Response policy. Promotes patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives. Completes and /or assists in the completion of required accreditation materials for assigned section. Maintains magnetic and radiation safety standards. Updates magnetic and radiation safety standards per Safety councils for MR/CT annually/or when new updates are available. Maintains documentation of safety for equipment in MR/CT. Monitors and ensures compliance with annual competencies; HIPAA, Safety Training, Business Conduct, and OSHA.Education/Experience Required:Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology. Typically requires 2 years of experience in Imaging as an MRI Technologist.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Good PC skills; basic keyboarding & typing skills. Strong clinical competencies and skills; (Injections, vitals, etc.). Demonstrated customer service skills. Previous experience supporting, training and mentoring others. Proven ability to use good judgment in stressful situations. Ability to learn medical terminology; if applicable. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology. Technical expertise that matches the skills required for the department/area. Previous experience with EMR and/or scheduling systems a plus.Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) registration and certification issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
