The Road Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for responding to road service calls from customers in the territory. This person will be troubleshooting and performing mechanical repairs and installs on a variety of heavy equipment in the field.POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:Heavy Equipment or Transport Mechanic experience a must Heavy Equipment or Transport Certified Mechanic an assetMust have valid driver''s license with a clean driver''s abstractPossession of a CDL, NYS Inspector''s license preferred2+ years'' experience as a certified mechanic Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical workExposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment considered an assetAbility to work under tight timelines in a busy environmentDemonstrated ability to work safely and independentlyDemonstrated team player and willing to assist others when requiredMust be able to attend road calls daily as required by customer needsPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment in the field Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiencyCommunicate with Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changesComplete all work order functions in PFW for all service calls completed Manage Service Truck inventory and ensure all required items are in place for health and safety compliance Complete additional tasks as assignedWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage applications from all qualified persons, however only those who are being considered for the position will be contacted.
