Facilities Project Manager POSITION SUMMARY The Project Manager plans and directs construction, renovations and capital maintenance projects. The mandate of this position is to direct and oversee contractors, plan budgets, develop project schedules, and act as liaison with various inter-company departments. Provide strong leadership in all aspects of the construction process relating to remodel/renovation, marketing rollout and maintenance/SIB projects while in accordance with all company and industry regulatory health, safety & environmental standards & procedures. The Project Manager supports the company goals by focusing on personal accountability, customer service and work efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Project Management or related field experience.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a coordinator, specialist or project management role.Minimum of 2 years of experience with retail environment.Experience with tendering including contract negotiation and budget management.Excellent communications, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.Ability to provide guidance to other departments, contractors, architects and consultants.Working knowledge of legislation, Codes and Zoning Bylaws.Requires approximately 20% of time spent travelling.Possess a valid driver''s license.Ability/Capacity to work under pressure.Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point.CAD an asset.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with associates, vendors, contractors and customers.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To ensure safe, seamless delivery of projects on time and on budget.Responsible for project expense control, reporting, construction, project management and risk and safety management.Oversee construction projects from initial development of scopes of work and permitting (if applicable) to completion.Fulfills contract requirements by completing pre-construction and closing inspections including a detailed punch-list at completion of projects.Manage construction and renovation projects within approved guidelines and capital budget appropriations; to include negotiation of contract terms and conditions, fees and/or contract values, deliverables, quality control, and legal accountability to assure that the company''s financial and legal interests are protected and that liabilities and exposure to risk is minimized.Prepares project schedules, budgets/estimates, and AFE''s.Responsible for equipment/materials ordering and scheduling delivery.Directs contractors/vendors engaged in planning and executing work.Liaison with general contractors, engineers, architects, equipment manufacturers and other departments to ensure that workmanship conforms to specification, details, and project documents.Prepares reports on progress, financial status and adjusts work schedules as needed.Authorizes and monitors project and program expenditures.Identifies repairs of facilities as needed and coordinates with respective Maintenance Coordinator and Facility Director.Tracks and updates expenditures on individual projects regularly to coincide with period reporting requirements.Manages/coordinates decommissioning of old sites and store closures.Other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are examples of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. (i.e. utilizing a hand truck).Ability to climb a ladder to store or retrieve materials, place and/or replace signage.Ability to sit at a desk or in a vehicle for long periods at a time.Ability to travel to store locations as needed.Work Environment: The work environment described below is an example of those an employee will experience while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at a normal range. The lighting will include natural light from the outside as well as fluorescent lighting throughout the work areas. The temperatures in the store are usually moderate at a normal range. The individual may occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures while supervising store managers performing occasional work in a walk-in cooler and/or freezer.
