We''re seeking Senior Engineering Technicians to conduct platform Integrated Topside Design (ITD) problem investigation, characterization, quantification, and engineering of fixes to satisfy requirements with governing directives. Responsibilities * Support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) systems integration efforts by providing total life-cycle support for systems beginning with up-front Electromagnetic Coupling (EMC) related engineering support during development. * C onduct characterization analyses and develop mitigation options for predictions of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) with new and installed systems in both Shipbuilding and Conversion (SCN) and In-service designs. * Support the characterization of and provide mitigation for emergent EMI problems in the Fleet, as well as EMC Certifications. EMC Certification ensures that a ship deploys in her highest possible state of EMC readiness. OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: * This position operates on a standard 8 hour schedule Monday - Friday. TRAVEL: * Requires occasional travel. Qualifications CLEARANCE: * Active Secret Clearance. EDUCATION: * HS Diploma or GED. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: * 12+ years engineering technical experience related to Topside equipment aboard U.S. Navy Mine, Amphibious, Auxiliary and Command (MACC) ships, Carriers, or Surface Combatants. * 7+ years'' experience in Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI)/Electro Magnetic Certification (EMC) Analysis. * Experience with: Integrated Topside Design (ITD); EMP; E3; EMI; EMC; E3 Computation and Modeling, EMC Shipboard Electromagnetic Compatibility; EMC Acquisition Electromagnetic Compatibility; EMI problem investigation, characterization, and quantification; E3 instructions, standards, policies and procedures, ; EMC document review; EMC and RADHAZ certification; EMC SHIPMAIN technical assessments; EMC acquisition engineering and EMI analysis; EMI planned maintenance systems; EMC certification infrastructure; EMC certification; Fleet Response Plans; EMI fix engineering; technical program support; CASREP EMI investigations; and EMI characterization and quantification. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. * Ability to work within a team environment. DESIRED SKILLS: * Prior U.S. Navy military experience as an Electronics Material Officer (EMO), System Test Officer (STO), Electronics Technician Chief/Senior Chief (ETC/ETCS), Fire Control Chief/Senior Chief (FCC/FCCS). * Experience with Autodesk products.
