This position is for a Senior Quality Engineer supporting the PAC-3 Evolutionary Development and Transition to Production programs. The position requires previous quality engineering experience in developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the development of manufactured and procured products. Individual should be a self-starter who can work autonomously with minimal direction in a fast-paced dynamic environment. You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Subcontracting, Program Management, suppliers, and customer to ensure quality standards are implemented and being met throughout the development of new hardware to increase manufacturability and enable a seamless transition of the hardware into production. This role requires strong project management skills, a strategic and forward-thinking mindset to constructively work with their cross-functional peers to ensure all Quality Engineering tasks and activities are proactively worked and completed in a timely fashion, and with precision. Role will also require monitoring performance of suppliers (internal and external), providing support for root cause and corrective/preventative actions, supporting supplier requests tied to program requirements, participating in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, providing technical liaison support related to quality engineering matters, auditing program and suppliers for conformance to requirements, and working closely with the Customer to ensure adequate acceptance of product. Quality Engineers at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control act as an integrated member of the design and production teams developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products. In a culture of continuous improvement our department utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and drive affordability and efficiency. Working with an integrated team, which includes customer, suppliers and other functional personnel, non-conformances are identified, trended and resolved in a timely manner. As a vital member of the team, a Quality Engineer at Missiles and Fire Control supports various life-cycle phases of multiple development programs, where concepts are created, designs are evolving, advanced technologies are being tested, producibility being evaluated and preparations are made for a smooth production flow. Each development program approaches objectives a little differently, so flexibility is key.Basic Qualifications:Technical Degree at the Bachelor level or aboveMust have ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Previous quality engineering experience in developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the development of manufactured and procured products. Experience collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Subcontracting, Program Management, suppliers, and customer to ensure quality standards are implemented and being met throughout the development of new hardware to increase manufacturability and enable a seamless transition of the hardware into production. New hardware transition planning or New Product Introduction (NPI) experience Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) or design to cost (DTC) Strong project management skills Experience (1) monitoring performance of suppliers (internal and external), (2) providing support for root cause and corrective / preventative actions, (3) supporting supplier requests tied to program requirements, (4) participating in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, (5) providing technical liaison support related to quality engineering matters, (6) auditing program and suppliers for conformance to requirements, (7) working closely with the Customer to ensure adequate acceptance of product and (8) interpret engineering drawings, performance specifications and other system integration technical data Ability to travel up to 25Þsired Skills:Engineering degree from an accredited college in one of the following disciplines: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. One of more of the following certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA), Lean Six Sigma Green, Black Belt Certification Able to effectively communicate (both written and verbal) and interact with Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and all other stakeholders SAP/ERP experience Experience with Department of Defense customers A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements Thorough understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems as well as AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning Earned Value Management System Cost Account Manager (EVMS CAM) certificationBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.Qualifications Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
