Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking Flight Test & Evaluation Engineers to join our test teams in a number of roles of varying experience levels performing developmental and certification testing of commercial airplanes and military derivatives.The teams operate primarily out of Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington with some testing in Everett and Renton.We''re looking for engineers who can function in a dynamic and exciting flight test environment. Occasional travel will also be required at various domestic and international sites for up to 2-4 weeks at a time.Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Flight Test & Evaluation Engineers.Position Responsibilities:We have opening across a broad variety of Test and Evaluation engineering roles who perform functions such as;Test Director: Effectively plan and sequence, a test or block of Ground Tests, Flight Tests or Simulator SessionsSupports development & execution of test brief, execution, debrief /post test materialsEffectively lead/direct a multi-disciplinary test team onboard test aircraft to successfully implement a test on experimental or production platformsCoordinates and support remote based testing operationsGround Operations:Provide engineering definition and authorization for airplane configuration changes including developmental hardware and softwareApply extensive airplane level knowledge to effectively provide engineering support to reconcile airplane discrepancies and support certification effortsLeverage all of the above domain knowledge to release the airplane for testFly onboard experimental test aircraft as Cabin Safety focal and Weights engineerWork multiple shifts on a rotational basis to support maintenance activitiesInstrumentation Operations:Designs test hardware, software, and systems to achieve test requirementsDevelops and maintains data system architecture, both Electrical and MechanicalSupports fabrication, configuration, build, installation, and checkout of data systemOperates data system on experimental test aircraft ground tests and flight testsMaintains, troubleshoots, and configuration control of data systemSupports aircraft refurbishment and data system de-modMilitary Derivative (E-3A AWACS or E-7A AEW&C) Aircraft Mission System Test Engineer:Responsible for execution of system-level lab, ground and flight testsWrite test directives for test article preparation and overall test planningPerform Mission System or avionics upgrade testing as a member of lab, ground, and flight test crewsTest results authoring to be reported in real time and/or formally in test reports at the conclusion of test eventsThis role requires maintaining flight qualifications to fly onboard military derivative aircraft and technical expertise in testing and/or operating military sensors, communications systems, or mission systemsU.S. Security Clearance of SECRET or higher active within the past 2 years and the ability to maintain a SECRET clearanceThese positions are expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidates will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.These positions require the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryAble to travel both domestically and internationally1+ year of experience working in a flight test and/or airplane/systems integration lab test environmentPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience5 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProficiency with one or more of the following areas: aircraft test design/planning, test execution, operation of airplane systems, test article configuration control, aircraft safety protocols, data collection and analysis, airplane maintenance practices or experiences on surveillance platforms in a test or operator role.Typical Education/Experience:Associate (Level 2)Bachelor''s degree and typically 2 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Experienced (Level 3)Bachelor''s degree and typically 5 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 3 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Senior (Level 4)Bachelor''s degree and typically 9 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 7 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
