Find your future with us.The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), SoCal Advanced Concepts organization is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer (Level 3) to join our team in Long Beach, CA. The advanced concepts team develops future aircraft concepts and technologies for the commercial aviation market!Position Responsibilities:Define requirements for aircraft, systems, and systems of systemsConcept of Operations (CONOPS) developmentFunctional architecture and decompositionPerform aircraft level trade studies as part of a multidisciplinary conceptual aircraft design teamRisk Issue and Opportunity Identification and trackingTechnology readiness level evaluation and trackingPresent findings to leadershipApplies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.Resolves cross-functional technical issues.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree1+ years of experience with systems architecture1+ years of experience in requirements development and management1+ years of years of experience with trade study and/or systems analysisEffective written and verbal communication across diverse audiencesPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):5+ years of experience in job elated dutiesExperience with aircraft development programsFamiliarity with model-based systems engineering tools, such as CAMEOKnowledgeable in aircraft systems (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, data)Knowledgeable in hardware development and test or flight test programsEffective at bringing diverse stakeholders together to accomplish common goalsComfortable presenting to senior leadershipTypical Education:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years'' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
