Your primary focus will be to keep financial records current and complete. If you have passion, knowledge, and expertise in bookkeeping, attention to detail, excellent communication and time management skills, are self disciplined and trustworthy, then we would love to hear from you.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDocument transaction details and maintain accounting records. Perform posting tasks pertaining to business transactions.Reconcile and report any discrepancies found in the records.Create and maintain financial reports including A/R and A/P statements and balance sheets.Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering dataUpdating payroll records by entering any changes to employee informationPreparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave and non-taxable wages Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer''s payments for social security, unemployment and worker''s compensationResolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queriesMaintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and proceduresProcessing and issuing W-2 forms to employeesQUALIFICATIONS High school diploma/GED required.Associate''s degree in accounting or related field preferred.Previous experience in an accounting and/or payroll department.Knowledge of payroll software is beneficial.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.Excellent math and communication skills.Ability to perform simple accounting procedures.Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures.Basic data entry and/or word processing skills.WHY READING HORIZONS?We offer our employees:Competitive Pay, with Bonus Potential Medical/Dental/Vision/Rx401k with generous company match and annual Profit Sharing opportunity11 official paid holidays, plus additional Wellness days/Generous paid time off (PTO)An amazing Team-oriented work environment, with opportunities to learn and growREADY TO JOIN OUR FINANCE TEAM?We understand your time is valuable and that is why we have a very quick and easy application process.
