The Airborne Battle Management and Command and Control (ABMC2) department is seeking technical staff to join our energetic and diverse team of system, electrical, and software engineers and global flight operations domain analysts in assisting our sponsors with their most critical mission the BMC2 area, we are assisting our U.S. and foreign partners on major upgrades to enhance effectiveness of their airborne platforms (e.g., E-3/E-7) in a contested environment to gain and retain air superiority. One of our skill areas is integration of sensor systems and the application of open system architecture approaches. A successful candidate will assist our sponsors in mission requirements analysis, technology tradeoffs, and experimentation. In our Global Flight Operations program, we do impact assessments and develop approaches to proactively improve the integration of Civil Aviation and Military operations. One of our major technology thrusts is enhancements to enable the Air Force''s Agile Combat Employment through cutting edge improvements in deploy ability of electronic systems. Job Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include: * Identify operational or technical gaps in current systems and recommending mitigations for fielded or new systems in development* Identify opportunities to apply emerging technology to the air battle management and command and control (C2) domains* Develop and present prototypes and system models to help customers frame emerging technology trends to increase affordability, efficiency, and effectiveness* Engage in system concept development, requirements engineering, system architecture development and evaluation, and test strategy development* Present technical recommendations to government program office customers Basic Qualifications: * Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor''s degree; or 3 years and a Master''s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.* Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. Required Qualifications: * Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance * Coursework or internship experience applying engineering principles* Interest and exposure to C2 systems, cross-system interoperability, networking and communications, or sensor modeling* Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, and briefing skills to interact with team members and the US Government and international customers* Bachelor''s degree Engineering or related field PreferredQualifications: * BS and 5 years of related experience* Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI* Experience implementing rapid prototyping for DoD projects* Experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes* Expertise in simulation and analysis software tools such as MATLAB, R, AFSIM and programming languages such as C++ and Java* Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering concepts and tools* Demonstrated experience developing DoD or FAA systems in the areas of Command and Control, cross-system interoperability, networking and communications, or sensor modeling* Master''s or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, or related field This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Subject to all federal and state laws, rules and regulations, MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
