Were currently building over 2,000,000 sf of warehouse space, that will package and store material for a great export customer base. Job Summary: We are looking for exceptional, professional drivers to join our export team . While were not insistent you must have container drayage experience, preferential consideration will be offered to those that do. Safety and compliance are not taken lightly at Plastic Express. All applicants should have a good understanding of CSA Scores a nd how they affect our business. Our CSA scores are very low and we intend on k eeping them that way. Our excellent maintenance program , paired with our safety and compliance program, ensure we hold up our end of the bargain. W e insist you do as well. Our trucks are in great shape, with polished wheels, drive fenders, steps, etc. As you know, they do not get this way on their own. Drivers are expected to keep them polished and washed. This too does not go uncompensated. Slow days will serve as yard work days and paid hourly. However, we want you to understand this is not simply driving a box back-and-forth type job. Pride, professionalism and your willingness to use elbow grease is essential. Safety and compliance are not taken lightly at Plastic Express. All applicants should have a good understanding of CSA Scores and how they affect our business. Our CSA scores are very low and we intend to keep them that way. Our excellent maintenance program, paired with our safety and compliance program, ensure we hold up our end of the bargain and we expect no less from you. When the workload is slow, you will be required to perform duties in the yard on an hourly basis. Hourly rates will be negotiated. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Qualifications: High School or equivalent Current unrestricted Class A CDL License. At least 2 years of Class A driving experience. (Required) A motor vehicle driving record that meets current Plastic Express standards. Successfully pass a physical exam as prescribed by DOT including pre-employment drug testing. TWIC Card Responsibilities and Duties: Inspect tractor, trailer, and required accessories to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure. Operate in compliance with company, state, and federal regulations. Communicate with dispatcher and receivers in English. Report all accidents or incidents involving driver or company equipment. Report any delays that will affect pick up or delivery appointments.
