Job Description

WANTED: An experienced Senior Marine Engineer with a background in marine propulsion system design and integration to support services to the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) in Baltimore, MD. The engineer will support the Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) Engineering Services Division across all USCG cutter and boat platforms. As a Senior Marine Engineer, you will * Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness team and provide marine engineering expertise * Join a well-established team that gives you the opportunity to grow * Maintain/Obtain your secret clearance * Receive robust benefits package that includes Employee Stock Ownership Plan! (ESOP) A week in the life of a Senior Marine Engineer: * Design, develop, and evaluate the operation of Marine vessels, Propulsion Systems, Auxiliary Systems, and Ship Support Systems, and related equipment. * Provide engineering support in the analysis of all propulsion related technical issues and design challenges pertaining to assets in the USCG fleet. * Conduct reviews and provide comments on new Coast Guard acquisition cutter and boat propulsion system designs. * Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components. * Perform design reviews, evaluate constructability, help resolve technical issues, and manage information generated through the design and construction phases of multiple and concurrent projects. * Coordinate development and act as SME for Propulsion system performance data system. * Conduct ship visits and document existing propulsion system conditions and configurations * Develop Engineering Changes as directed on cutter and boat propulsion systems. * Conduct mechanical engineering analysis as they relate to vessels and propulsion systems. * Research advanced engineering designs and/or applications. * Monitor processes for compliance with standards. * Devise research and/or testing protocols. * Prepare technical reports, position papers, draft analyses, designs, specifications, drawings, draft presentations as requested by the section head. * Review and analyze technical reports from third party design validation sources and make recommendations to the Government.
