Quality Manager:BUSINESS: Continental Cement Company:DIVISION: Cement:LOCATION: Hannibal, MO:CLASSIFICATION: F/T Exempt / Salaried :REPORTS TO: Plant Manager :POSITION OVERVIEW:Summit Materials is looking for a Quality Manager to be responsible for all Cement laboratory facilities and equipment. Solely responsible for all product quality. Sets direction for Plant laboratory. Interacts with all Departmental Managers including Terminal Managers and Upper Management.___________________________________________________________________________:POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Performs all tasks in a safe and professional manner in conformance with plant rules, quality standards and company policies.Responsible for quality of product: Raw materials, alternative raw materials, kiln feed, clinker, cement, and gypsum.Maintain adequate ground feed/blending material for un-interrupted kiln operations.Responsible for quality of finished product that leaves the facility.Balance supply of finish cement at Shipping for efficient flow through truck and barge lines.Coordinates efforts with Plant departments to maintain quality and efficient operations:- Quarry (raw materials, demands and appropriate placement into storage).- Operations (raw/finish grinding/kiln production). Packing (truck/barge loading).- Sales (changes needed in market).Company contact for State Departments of Transportation: Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and pany Representative to ASTM (C-1 Committee & CCRL).Works with customers and state agencies to provide certifications for barges and bins.Prepare mill test sheets and letters of certification, as required.Coordinator efforts with Maintenance and Operations for scheduling mill production and repairs to achieve the types and quantities of cement, as projected by Sales.Direct shipping departments on silo usage, based on type, certification, etc. for truck loading and river silo pumping.Coordinator with Terminal Managers and Barge line, the trip schedule necessary to maintain appropriate volumes and types of cement at all locations.On call responsibilities to cover 24-hour period.Additional duties assigned by leadership.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk; reach with hands and arms; climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste and smell.Frequently required to climb stairs, walk on rocky, irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditionsFrequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbsSpecific vision abilities include close, distance, color discrepancy, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experiences.Five (5) or more years of previous experience in similar capacity.Strong time management skills.Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written).Strong leadership skills.Strong computer literacy with various software programs.Meet and maintain company background plete and pass a pre-employment Fit for Duty based physical.Continental Cement is a Summit Materials :PANY OVERVIEW:Summit Materials (NYSE: SUM) is a publicly traded construction materials company that supplies aggregates, cement, ready-mix concrete, & asphalt paving mix in the United States & western Canada.Summit Materials has completed more than 70 acquisitions since its founding & continues to pursue growth opportunities in new & existing markets.
