Training will consist of credit risk analysis, a review of other elements of general business risk, accounting, corporate finance, cash flow analysis, underwriting, financial modeling, valuation, business writing, and exposure to available banking products. Trainees will gain an in depth understanding of portfolio management and end-to-end underwriting of credit transactions with a primary focus on Commercial and CRE business lines and a secondary focus on Specialized Lending and Private Banking. Trainees will develop a clear understanding of Associated Bank''s culture, lending cycle, and credit risk management approach, with openings targeting recent college graduates or current colleagues that are looking to develop a solid foundation of underwriting skills. Associates will perform all duties in accordance with the Vision and Values of Associated Banc-Corp, internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations and laws. Generally, Associates should expect to work 40 hours per week during the program. Upon successful completion of the program, Associates will be placed into a role in one of the previously referenced lines of business, based upon the current business need, skills and competencies demonstrated during the training program.Job Accountabilities* Learn and understand Associated''s credit approach and underwriting process, as well as spread and analyze financial data.* Begin to conduct the analysis and underwriting of existing and new credit transactions, in preparation to monitor and manage a loan portfolio.* Learn and understand Associated''s lending cycle and the wide range of banking products we provide to our customers and prospective customers.* Prepare to help companies analyze their capital structure and financial needs in order to help develop and recommend financial solutions.* Understand Associated''s value proposition and the benefit of relationship banking.Education* Bachelor''s Degree Business Administration Required* Bachelor''s Degree Finance, Accounting or Economics (GPA of at least 3.0 is Preferred) PreferredExperience* Less than 2 years Previous customer service experience Preferred* Less than 2 years Internship experience with other bank or financial institution Preferred* Less than 2 years Previous financial/credit analysis work experienced PreferredCompliance StatementFully complies with all applicable enterprise policies and procedures. Acts in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as outlined in training materials, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act. Responsible for reporting suspicious activity to Financial Intelligence. Responsible to report all customer complaints as prescribed and procedure violations to management or HR.
