The Space Mission Integration Department (N113) of MITRE''s Air and Space Forces Center - Space Warfighting Division (N110) is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the MITRE Los Angeles site leader. The successful candidate will work closely with the department and division leadership at the MITRE LA site; leaning forward on growing the workforce and establishing a lab environment that promotes creative thinking, generating experimental technical solutions and research ideas. The ideal candidate will help develop, mature, and execute out the MITRE LA site strategy, aligning it to strategic corporate initiatives and fulfill corporate business responsibilities for the site. The successful candidate will also be a critical contributor to our work programs supporting the Space Systems Command (SSC). Other responsibilities also include but are not limited to: * Facilitating discussions between existing, incoming and outgoing portfolios at the site to plan the 3-5-year strategy for the site* Plans, budgets, manages, and executes site budget in partnership with department and division leadership for all site capital, lab, labor, and other charges/improvements needed to support the site strategy* Engage and lean forward on establishing community and local industry partnerships in execution of the approved site strategy* Enabling a culture of innovation, speed and risk taking by tapping into Corporate Innovation resources like the MITRE Innovation Program and developing relationships with local government and industry partners to inspire innovation* Be an extension/voice of Senior Leadership to cascade communications effectively and be an advocate for site residents back to Senior Leadership* Establishing trusted relationships with all site staff and be an enabler of critical conversations on topics such as Inclusion and Diversity and corporate culture* Responsible for all site staff accountability during emergency situations or extraordinary circumstances in partnership with site Facilities Security Officer* Manages all site operations and logistical decisions regarding the security of the site in partnership with Security* Coordinates with Corporate Real Estate, IT, and Security, as needed* Partner with MITRE LA department and division leadership on all site visits and other engagements* Lead site-wide employee engagement activities Required Qualifications: * B.S. in a technical field applicable to or be applied to the suite of MITRE work programs* 8+ years of related experience* Active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance.* Exceptional communication skills both with colleagues, sponsors, and external entities* Outstanding ability to express new ideas, both verbally and in written form* Ability to think independently and bring together technical requirements for execution of MITRE LA work programs with corporate business initiatives* Desire to explore new technologies and increase creativity of staff at the site* The ability to work both independently and as a team member, and the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and deadlines in a geographically distributed organization PreferredQualifications: * M.S. in a technical field applicable to or can be applied to the space domain* Entrepreneur and business operations experience This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Subject to all federal and state laws, rules and regulations, MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
