Job Description

Are you a Senior Software or Systems Engineer experienced with large data sets and near-real-time content services and 2-D and 3-D visualization, using standards-based approaches? LinQuest is a space systems technology company that provides innovative services and solutions to U.S. defense, national security, and intelligence communities that focus on the convergence of C4ISR, information, and cyber systems. These services and solutions span the integration, engineering, testing, operations, and sustainment of critical space, air, and ground systems capabilities and programs. We are seeking an experienced Software or Systems Engineer with an interest in projects emphasizing cloud-hosted solutions and services, data science and ingestion technologies, and modern web frameworks, within an agile development model. Duties and Responsibilities The successful Senior Software/Systems Engineer will be responsible for Agile SE Development SE (Epics, Develop Stories, SW Architectures, Testing, IV&V). Software toolkit and application development, and administratively manage the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline for VSPO ground to reduce barriers to entry for operational deployments and accessibility. Participate in government and VSPO Ground developer sponsored technical exchange meetings, design reviews, and program reviews to aid best practices and streamline system integration Identify major and minor technical issues and risks for VSPO Ground developers to address, propose recommended solutions to the Government if applicable, and track and status risk, issues, and discrepancy reports in a log. Recommend technical and programmatic solutions to the Government to include review, recommendation, and disposition of Gitlab tickets for VSPO Ground where applicable. Technical support to develop verification and validation test objectives, define testing mythologies, and review VSPO Ground developer test data for evaluation. Provide technical input and review space to ground Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between ground system(s) and SIGINT spacecraft and define VSPO ground standards, and define and manage VSPO Ground internal interfaces. Maintain a VSPO Ground Giver/Receiver List and identify the need for GFE and GFI to be delivered to VSPO Ground contractors and provide recommended modifications to APls, transport protocols, data formats to optimize system integration. Configuration management of the VSPO Ground Governance Plan, and other integration documents as needed. Qualifications Required Skills: * 15+ years of software engineering / development experience, to include recent experience in agile software engineering environments* Demonstrated skill in in at least one or more high -level programming languages (e.g. Java, C/C++)* An interest and some knowledge of one modern Big Data (e.g. Hadoop), ETL (e.g. NiFi), Data Science (e.g. MapReduce), or web framework (e.g. AngularJS) technology.* You must be able to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment, and meet required schedules and timelines.* You must have the ability to interact with data suppliers, work well with coworkers and teammates.* You must have outstanding skills in communicating complex technical issues and in providing comprehensive written, oral and/or digital products (including document organization and technical writing).* Analytic skills and the ability to apply these skills in a multi-tasking environment where more than one project may require his/her participation at a given time (typically one primary project and one or two ancillary projects).* You must be located in or willing to relocate to the Northern Virginia area (our facility is located in Chantilly Virginia).Desired Skills: * Experience with commercial cloud services, such as Amazon Web Services; Specific experience with implementing and deploying applications and services on Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) is highly desired.* Experience with and/or certification on the Cloudera platform.* RESTful Web Sevices, parallel programming* Web Framworks: ReactJS, NodeJS* Big Data: Accumulo, Apache Solr* Data Science: Spark, R, Python, Scala* Experience with software design and implementation compliant with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and ICD 503, including familiarity with IC PKI and Attribute Based Access Control.* Previous experience with National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) programs, or other IC software engineering projects.Minimum Educational Requirements: * BS. in an engineering, computer science, or mathematics discipline.Clearance Requirements: * Current TS/SCI (top secret SCI) is required.Please Note: U.S. Citizenship is required COVID-19 Compliance Guidelines: As a federal contractor, all LinQuest team members must comply with Executive Order 14042- Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, which includes mandatory vaccination and ability to provide proof of vaccination status prior to start of employment.
