Wexford Health has an exceptional opportunity for a Part-Time Mental Health PA/NP, 20 hours per week t o join our team of healthcare professionals at Westmoreland County Prison in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. POSITION SUMMARY Under direct supervision of the appropriate Wexford Health Manager, and clinical supervision by the facility and/or Regional Psychiatrist, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician''s Assistant providing Mental Health services shall provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment to patients/offenders, as well as clinical consultation to nurses, mental health professionals and others. Utilizes electronic medical record system as applicable throughout the scope of duties and responsibilities. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The Mental Health NP conducts Psychiatric Evaluations and provides Psychiatric treatment to incarcerated patients/offenders in accordance with standard practice guidelines EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS The following requirements list the minimum to qualify. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.Licensing Currently licensed as NP or PA in the State of Pennsylvania Certification CPR Education Certification from an accredited college/university as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician''s Assistant experience 2 years'' experience as a NP/PA treating psychiatric diagnoses within the last 5 years. Primary responsibilities to include diagnosis of mental disorders and assessment of risk factors; conducting group or individual therapy; prescribing psychotropic medication; on-going and continuous monitoring of patients on psychotropic medication and documenting treatment results; and intervention with patients experiencing mental crises. Substantiation of the above experience may be required. Prior experience with use of electronic medical record system preferred.
