Description of WorkThis position is assigned to District 19, Court Services in Randolph County.Recruitment Range: $31,713 - $46,734This position performs a variety of Administrative tasks as generalists in support of Court Services Office operations. Employees perform a variety of ongoing work functions that include a diversity of records, reports and filing activities, public contact, office equipment operation, composition, and other general office duties. Work requires a knowledge and use of applicable office equipment systems and related technology. Some employees may spend a large percentage of time in office machine operation to support the work production of the overall work unit. Various software packages may be used to enter, retrieve, verify, update, research, and/or authorize actions. The variety and complexity of these packages may increase as the level of responsibility increases. This position reports to higher-level administrative employees and/or first line supervisors. Work reflects an increase in complexity or scope of tasks, the knowledge and application of policies and procedures, degree of independence and accountability, and consequence of tasks performed.This position requires:* effective and professional interactions with the public in both office and telephonic settings to direct them to appropriate individuals/resources;* data entry and reporting from NCJOIN and other electronic sources;* maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment and typing letters and reports, sorting and delivering office mail;* providing assistance to staff, service recipients, other organizational units and the public in resolving problems or inquiries;* a significant knowledge of the office or work unit''s policies and procedures in order to communicate or process information or documents involving program functions and services, to access office systems for information and to prepare documents and reports.Other duties as assigned.The successful applicant must possess a valid North Carolina drivers license.Must be able to obtain commission as a Notary Public.Note to Current State Employees:The salary grade for this position is NC02. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.
